2002 Kubota L4610HST-HC
I am going to check out a 2002 Kubota L4610HSTC2 46hp hydrostatic. Factory cab with heat and AC. Equipped with a LA852 loader. Excellent condition with ONLY 253 extremely low hours asking 23,900. Is there anything I should check on this model.I did talk with the dealership about the hours and they said the previous owner bought it new from them and just did not use it, he just traded it in on a new machine.

L4610 SPECS: TractorData.com Kubota L4610 tractor information

L4610 is a previous generation, heavy chassis, Kubota 'Grand L'.

I have the smallest of the current Grand L generation, an L3560.

Kubota Grand Ls are top-of-the-line, heavy built, medium size, tractors.

Outside storage vs barn or other inside storage should influence the price. Long term outside storage creates potential for rodents to chew wiring on any tractor.

I am NO expert on prices for Cab equipped Kubotas.

TBN ARCHIVE: Google - Kubota L4610

I perused your previous TBN posts. Cabs with heat are wonderful for snow removal. Cabs are delicate. Most would not take a cab tractor into woods. You may wish to consider a PTO powered Forestry Winch for the Three Point Hitch. Then the tractor can remain on relatively open ground while you winch trees from some distance away.

How many hours have you operated a tractor?

If you take care creating thread titles, germane threads will appear in the SIMILAR THREADS box at the bottom of this page.

Used L4610 Tractor, rather than "Used Tractor".

jeff9366 This would be my first tractor I would be using it mostly to clear snow and maintain my 1/2 mile long driveway it would rarely be in the woods if ever and yes I would use a winch if I had to retrieve any timber that was in the woods. So I really want the cab for the winters when I am doing the snow clearing.

It is nice to start with THE BEST as a first tractor. Finally, someone buying ENOUGH TRACTOR in the beginning.

L4610 will feel huge the first 20 hours you operate it. After 20 hours of operation it will seem to shrink. Work through it.

An excellent size tractor for twelve acres of land. Probably challenging soil in Maine.

After you acquire a tractor you will find many more uses for it than you imagine. So will your neighbors.

I have read through out the forums it could be better to go new over used because of the interest.but I am leaning to try and negotiate on this tractor and just pay cash.

I have been using an L4610 (non-cab), since I bought it new in 2002. It has been a reliable, trouble-free, hard-working tractor. There are no major (or minor, actually), trouble prone elements I can think of.

If you buy it, here are some random thoughts: 253 hours is virtually new as tractors go. I'd want to make sure everything on the tractor is working OK and hasn't gotten bound up by lack of use (controls, linkages, grease fittings, etc.). If it were my purchase, the first thing I'd do is round up the owners manual and give it a full servicing with all new fluids and filters. I'd make sure all of the mechanical stuff was torqued to specs (particularly the wheel lugs and loader brackets). Verify that heat and A/C are in good working order. There's a grease fitting for the front axle pivot that often gets overlooked... make sure it gets lubed. There is a clear plastic sight glass on the rear of the differential housing for checking the HST fluid level. Make sure it's got enough fluid when parked on level surface. Be sure to use only Kubota SUDT-2 HST for hydraulic fluid. Expensive (very), but makes a big difference in smoothness and quiet operation. Be sure you add weight in back... the more the better. It has more power and loader capability than you can use without weight at the back, even if the tires have fluid.

Thanks for the information,I am hoping to negotiate with the dealer and get them to take care of all fluids before purchasing.I have plans to check out a couple new tractors both cab tractors a Kioti CK3510hst and a Massey 1736 I already tested an LS XR3135HC-35hp. Part of me says lets just try and negotiate a fair deal for this used tractor because it has low hours it is a little larger then the others I am looking at the cost,I can pay cash so hopefully that will help. The dealership that has it has an excellent reputation and they are the original sellers and the previous owner bought another tractor from them which I think says something about them.I have seen the tractor and it looks like it has been stored inside.

I have this tractor's little brother - an L3710. I would argue that the xx10 series Kubota Grand L's are the BEST tractors ever made for price, simplicity, and reliability. You will love that machine.
