I for one am delighted to have a lady back in this thread. And one who likes tractors and playing in the snow.
And a birthday girl to boot. All good.
hour and a half drive back to the rv tonight down utterly insane Miami corridor traffic on rt 95. It's like all the world is funneling down into that area and the seven lanes of traffic, plus it was Friday night plus all the lanes were dumped into two thanks to a bad wreck over on the right side. Lots of fire trucks, wreckers flying by. As we crept along for miles and miles.
then when past the wreck the highway totally opened up and now this was almost worth the wait.
All these ticked off wealthy playboys in their powerful European sports cars were out of there like a shot out of cannon. It was like a license was given for some race car start. An SRT Challenger of some high order just wailed down the road. A Bentley Continental coupe blew past my heavy truck (actually I think it weighs almost as much) and someone had that thing floored. Late for dinner I'm sure. Just a great deal of horsepower in a hurry, and this the land of exotic cars. Tomorrow I'm going to drive through Palm Beach with my friends and see how the other 5% live. The ultra rich. There I should see a lot more interesting cars. At least half of these things are driven by women, this is the land of the Latin girl friend with Papa's Mercedes. I think that Bentley that sucked my doors off was probably driven by an older lady. Attagirl use that 500+hp.
Long, long day, all day on my feet, that part not good, but the boat show was fun, the weather perfect 77 degrees and sunny and we went out on a boat ride over to the dealer to look at another boat, they offered the boat ride and we sure took it. Never went on plane, I didn't care, marvelous to be out on the water on a warm day. I begged off dinner with my friends and came back, just tired and pretty sore. But quite happy to have had a wonderful day with friends despite the horrible traffic in this area. You would be amazed to see how much traffic there is going into Miami in the middle of the night. Nonstop traffic 24/7 really does feel like the continent is funneling into here, all headed for Key West I suppose. actually pretty quiet back in this rv campground, I can hear Routes 1, 95 and 84 but it's muted, I'm pretty far back in the campground.
More adventures tomorrow. Maybe I'll figure out how to post pics tomorrow.
this is the land of conspicuous consumption. I'm always glad to leave and go home, but the proverbial
fun place to visit.
this is too long sorry.
