Good morning!!!!

oh it's going to be fun to say this....71 degrees going up to 77, no snow here!!
Almost did not get into the campground site, horrible tiny site with a tree at the end, back in, took me 8 tries with the trailer skidding around, thankfully I have the big hitch on and nothing bent but the site is a postage stamp.
However....behind me is a Lauderdale canal, filled with about ten boats, none worth less than three million, mostly new Italian Ferrettis in the 80 to 100 foot range. Other than trying to camp in Palm Beach this is probably some of the priciest real estate you could put an rv campground on, and they sure did skimp on the site sizes to cram as many units in here. It's a rabbit warren, sure hope I don't scrape the rv getting out of here. Most of rv's are year rounders, least expensive place to live in a town where rents are through the roof.

I'm up earlier than I want to be...off to the Stuart boat show. My friends want to buy a new boat and having been a yacht broker I'm being brought along maybe for a good cop bad cop routine. I think they should buy something comfortable they will all enjoy for years, particularly Mom but the boys want a 60mph fish boat when neither of them have ever gone fishing in their life...I told my friend if he spends a couple hundred grand on a boat with a porta potti in it, don't plan on taking me out into the ocean with it. Getting too old for this...and in my own case, way too sore from arthritis. My good friend, you aren't 30 any more, despite wanting to be...we both were in the same high school graduating class and he always wanted to go fast. 396 Chevy II's (now Toppop would have liked a ride in that one) and other muscle cars, and he introduced me to boating in his Formula speed boat that went 72 mph. I didn't like going fast but I sure liked the boating. Hooked, with a big hook.

time to get moving, you all have a fine day. Taking lots of pics, just can't figure out how to send them with Chromebook.

Champagne taste on beer pocketbook am I. Still like to dream I would be like a kid in a candy store

Reading daugens post with envy, not at the weather :), the boats, those prices! :) for a boat....

Still looking for beater cars, need possibly two. The girls did OK through HS with cars, but once they got to college, and they all upgraded their rides, seems like bad lluck caught up to them. So now, no real down payment money, no real jobs, they are figuring out, maybe the upgrades were too soon. So that is where we are.

Nice and windy now, yesterday I saw 73 on my dashboard. And it was so nice I went by the pool and had a chilly one. Like looking at a tennis court with the cover on. LOL.

Have a great day all, weather is suppose to be bad this w/e. Up here. Looks like more maul time! I had to get another handle for the maul. I finally replaced it after 20 years! It's such a perfect chopper. I have no idea who made it, but the angle of the steel is just perfect and I have not found another on like it anywhere.

Be safe.

Good morning. Wind dropped enough to get a great sleep last night. Kyle, it's rare for me to make it through the night too, a cool bedroom and being dog tired help me to miss out on the view of the moonlit fields in the early hours.

Today's weather forecast brought back memories of a poem from schooldays:

The north wind doth blow,
And we shall have snow,
And what will poor robin do then?
Poor thing.

He'll sit in a barn,
And keep himself warm,
With his head tucked under his wing,
Poor thing.

Yes, another 3 hour earlier than normal morning. Caught up on news and a NOVA show parading new nuclear technology.
I will retreat to the barn too when the white stuff comes, with a K32 grease gun tucked under my arm.
Yes, another night with not enough sleep. Been up since 3am. All caught up on news and watched a NOVA about new nuclear power plant technologies. Wow, what a 180 turn around by environmentalists...

Correct me if I'm wrong but a moderately priced car for a teen is under 25K the vehicles with eyesight, lane departure, auto brake, adaptive cruise control etc. are on the top of the line models which are over 30K.

So a good question for the day, thanks to riptides, what is a moderately priced car for a teen and as a parent are you obligated to buy a top of the line model with all the safety devices for their protection?
If you don't, does that make you a bad parent?

I would like to get my daughter an old Army humvee. Plenty o'metal and low on horsepower.

I actually BBQ'd hamburgers last night. Warm and just a bit windy. They were delicious. Gone in minutes.

Need to work on HVAC today. Dust off my old gages.

Randy, belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY for Lynn.
Drew, enjoy the warm weather.
Buppies, sorry to hear more surgery. Hope they get it all this time.
Good Morning All.

Good news Ron!

Buppies, hope they get it all and it goes smoothly.

It is humid here. 69F this am. Calm with some showers possible. We haven't had a whole lot of rain lately. I see spring weeds popping up in the yard already.

Good Morning! 43F @ 6:30AM. Sunny. High 52F. Winds NE at 10 to 15 mph.

Yesterday's sunshine turned out to be the liquid kind, so I didn't make it to town for the pop top install. So that's on the agenda for today.

Good luck with the new round of surgery Buppies. You are one patient, tough and tolerant son of a gun, but then I guess there's not much choice when it comes to cancer.

Installer was an hour late yesterday, but he called to tell me he'd be delayed. Really knows what he's doin' too; assembled the dish, dropped it on the pole, and immediately got signal off the satellite. The new setup works as advertised, noticeably faster page loading, though there's still a second or two lag from click to load due to the distance up and back to the bird. But no more staying up to the wee hours to download updates and such. 50 Gb of anytime data, plus another 50 Gb that can be used between 2AM and 8AM. And if I manage to chew through all of that, more is available for $8/Gb anytime. Had a few questions last night, so called HughesNet tech support. I'm pretty sure the person I spoke to was not a native English speaker, but he was easy to understand. Even better, he was able to answer all of my questions, not just the ones about billing but also more technical questions as well. The difference between HughesNet and Excede is mind boggling, at least so far. The difference between HughesNet now and six years ago when I was a subscriber is just as staggering, they've improved that much. Not so much that I'd recommend satellite over almost any other Internet connection, but at least I can live with this setup.

Kyle, the weeds are sprouting like gang busters with all this rain we've been havin'. Looks like I'll be out pullin' 'em out for a while over the weekend, which is supposed to be sunny. Might have a crack at diggin' up the conduit out to the pump house so I can get an ethernet cable out there, too. And leave behind a pull rope in case there's a next time, too.

Lake Oroville has collected about 25% of its capacity over the last 5 or 6 days, and if we get another storm like the last one it'll be full. The dams at both Shasta and Oroville are releasing water far beyond that needed to meet power and environmental demands just to make sure there's enough capacity to meet flood control needs. Probably take a ride this weekend; I've heard the display of water is pretty spectacular. Last night on the news it was announced that Northern California is no longer in drought. Wonder how long that'll last?

TGIF gang!
