A very tired Good Morning from me today, following a night disturbed by the wind (not generated by me !). I first realised the predicted gale had arrived when I woke at 2:30 to find my wife putting tissues in her ears to try and drown out the sound of the wind whipping round the roof and rattling everything it could persuade to move. Eventually drifted back to sleep, then the dog woke me at 4:00am by barking and howling at all the commotion outside. No chance of a nap this morning, though I'll be lucky if I manage to stay awake until the sun has reached David(Sodomo).
The wind's been brutal here for the past three days. 30-40mph steady, with gusts to 50-60mph. Ripped heck out of the tarp over my firewood, pretty much lost coverage over the last row of pallets. I was out this morning fastening it all back down, what was left anyway. Used 100' of rope, and I could use another 100'. My buddy suggested that when we first put the tarp on, but I foolishly poo pooed the idea. Now I get to call him and tell him I should listen to my elders.
Today I'm going around the back porch and side yards looking for things that clang in the wind. There's an electric panel on the office trailer that I know is loose, but there's also something going on with the steel porch cover right out side the master bedroom. Then there's the hanger for the hummingbird feeder that screeches ever so quietly, except when I'm trying to sleep. And my favorite: The screen for the sliding glass door rattles like crazy, too. I've looked at it before but there's no obvious solution, but maybe something will jump out today.:confused2:
