"Tis a balmy 12F this fine morning, going for a high of 14. We got about an inch but snow is in the forecast for today, tonight and tomorrow. I will go out today just for the exercise and tomorrow afternoon to do a proper cleanup.

Need to run to town and get some flour to make some bread with. Then try to get auger in bin. Or at least get it closer to going in. Would like to have time to go get canopy but may not happen.

Progress on the cottage:
I did remove the dead skunk yesterday. The green light still has not been given to clean and fix it up.
I may have to take baby steps and it may be next next year before I can start. I'm thinking Mom's memory items (old furniture) in the house are the hold up. My Brother that died also has a lot of his "JUNK" in there. I need to figure a way around these obstacles if possible. The first phase may be a storage shed to store the memorabilia, I just don't know..??

Lots to catch up with. Off today. Will have pecan decaf coffee with some Irish Cream to "kick start" the day. A friend gave me a bottle of Omara's Irish cream. 26 proof. It tastes as good as Baileys to me but I'm no connoisseur. (a big thanks to spell check for that one, I missed the "i")

Armadillos, making home made bread, English boys with new toys, greasy equipment, Arizona sunsets, California dreaming, we get it all on here.

It is cooler, but I got a source on some refrigerant to get our A/C going. It is supposed to warm up New Years Eve and Day again, but very humid.

Drew, I wish you were closer, I'd invite you and your cooking over often. :licking::thumbsup:

Tough call as you are dealing with fresh memories.

Harsh bottom line is your asset needs attention. Perhaps start with the outside? How about that building out back? New paint of the roof? Looks to be metal?

30°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 45° today. Not as windy as yesterday, so should be pleasant (for those not inside at a desk, anyway).

Wife texted me on the way to work that the carpenters and electrician showed up this morning for day one of the remodel. Removing walls planned today. So, it's finally officially underway.

Oldest stepson is coming by this weekend to pick up a few things from storage. He and his girlfriend are moving to San Marcos, TX next week, where she's going to finish college. Thought we were done with Texas trips a couple of years ago when he left the Army and Ft. Hood. Guess not. (and I thought Killeen was a long drive)

Thanks, I'll start to clear out the inside and see If I get overwhelmed or enjoy it. It's about 5 miles from me, If I ever move back to the city like ED it could be a weekend cabin..

The place looks much different than I remember helping you and your dad feed cattle at. Looks much different from the road. Do I have the right place?

Just another 1.5 hours south. San Marcos has some really nice natural geographic features. It sits where the aquifer comes out from underground. Crystal clear water at 72 degrees year round. Many good hill country small town destination drives within 30 minutes.

Good luck on the remodel. Hope you have a good contractor. Don't give them too many advances on $$$
