Good morning!!!!

Good morning! The cool front blew in and it's time to pull out the winter clothes again. 57˚ 51% humidity.

That grapple sure is good for hauling dead cows, but next time I need some vicks.

I only got stung once by something while putting my hand behind a piling under the 140 year old church while installing a drain yesterday. I just was hoping that it was not a brown recluse spider. Considering I can type with it today it was most likely a scorpion. The drain is in and the dehumidifier can work continuously so the organ keys will not stick.

Today I look for gloves.

I have been in deep thought lately . . .
I have a small window of opportunity to turn my grandparents small brick house from a storage shed to a weekend cottage. I'm considering it. It will take most of my time for the next three years.

Just about 30 right now...and like Thomas wrote...we'll see 5-8 inches, 6-10 or 8-12 inches of snow today into tomorrow morning...just depends on which weather guesser made the prediction.

Tractor is fueled up and I want to spray the snowblower and chute with some equivalent to Pam. I forgot to do that before the last snow (wet and heavy) and the chute really clogged up. Took me a good 20-25 minutes to get it cleared.

I'm hoping this storm is powdery...we'll see in a few hours.

Consider it. I have a "cottage" on our property. It was originally a storage building of some sort. Then another building was built over it. Thusly, it was expanded in size more than double. It was however, a building within a building. And when we purchased the place, it was scary bad, so much so, the kids refused to even go in it.

We gutted it down to the dirt floors, and exposed the lumber and double roofs on the inside. All new electric and plumbing. All new subfloors and of course insulation and drywall. It now has a great room, a full kitchen, a full bathroom and two bedrooms. It is a guest house and when the kids come home from college and travels, THAT is where they go.

I use it as a retreat for the big screen stuff on occasion. Oh, we also lived in it during various farm house remodels.

Best money I ever spent, reviving that old building into livable space. It is also an option for us now as we get older. One floor and less square footage to maintain. My "retirement" home. LOL.

37° and rain, just south of the mason Dixon line.
Drove back from Dad's farm yesterday in the sunshine, instead of today's winter storm in the mountains.
I don't even get my tractor out for less than 6" of snow usually, I let it lay. I do need to pick up fuel.

Thanks, I'll start to clear out the inside and see If I get overwhelmed or enjoy it. It's about 5 miles from me, If I ever move back to the city like ED it could be a weekend cabin. It still belongs to my parents and they have no intention of selling it or spending any money on it.

If I do it you all will be along for the ride.

The only problem with is thaws and refreezing...leaves your drive rutted (with the snow) and icy as all get out. I made that mistake a few years ago...

Far enough south here that usually isn't a problem. I usually leave less than 6" because the odds are it will melt. With a cab tractor, I don't mind pushing it if I have to.

Looks promising. Looks like an opportunity to me. Good luck in your decision!

35°F and clear skies, going up to 45° today. Windy, so it's a bit brisk.

Good luck in the Northeast with the coming snow event. We may be near 60° with thunderstorms by Monday, which will be less than desirable for the Winter Classic hockey game here.

Good Morning! 45F @ 6:15AM. Sunny. High 59F. Winds N at 5 to 10 mph.

Looks like today's weather will be fine, but I could be waking up tomorrow to light showers on the south coast. Been wet before, gonna be wet again. Of more concern, though, is a storm that's supposed to move in here Sunday night and drop 1-3 inches of SNOW over the next 24 hours. In the seven years I've been here, it's only snowed once, so the upcoming weather is very exceptional. It's looking more and more likely that a 650 mile blitz back up I5 on Sunday will be the thing to do, as dry weather won't return until Wednesday. Only problem is there's no Internet connectivity where I'll be staying, so I'll have to make the call based on what I can find out on Saturday when I'm out checking out the statues and hopefully finding a cafe with cell coverage.

Gotta love that porch, Don. That alone would be good enough reason to dive into the remodel. When you're done, you'll at least have an inlaw setup, and that's nothing but good if it ever comes time to sell the place.

Hang in there, gang. Friday's comin'!
