Comparison What is the best brand of tractor?

I'm very new to tractors but I was told to shop for a dealer and not a tractor. So whatever delears you have near you and who have been around for a while are the ones I'd be looking at as far as brand goes.

You got some bad advice IMO. If you get a new tractor of good quality the right dealer should be of little use. Sure if all things are fairly equal pick one from a good dealer. I say choose the tractor you want and deal with anyone of decent reputation within an hour drive.

Could not disagree more. If you are new to tractors, a truly good dealer is extremely valuable. The more experience you have, the less important the dealer is. I also think there are many people out there who have never experienced a truly good dealer and therefore don't know what they're missing.

I've been on the Dealer's lot that I bought my Kubota from once. That was the day I picked up the tractor. Not been back.

I look for a quality product that meets my needs. I don't pay any attention to Warranty or the dealer.

I was very Blessed to get both. My dealer has been around since 1938 and sells New Holland and Kioti and Ventrac tractors. He is also less than 10 miles from me. My machine has never been back for anything cept him putting the 2nd set of remotes on when they finally came in.

I think it depends on your occupation.. if you farm or use your equipment to make a living.. I would agree the dealer is much more important.

If you are a tractor newbie.. probably not a farmer and your going to put minimal hours on it and it doesn't put food on your table... dealer means much less... I should have said it depends.

I don't agree with you regarding the more experience you have the less you need a dealer... talk to any farmer. Generally the more you use it the more you may need a dealer. It isn't the dealer's responsibility to educate a newbie; though many around me would do quite a lot to help a new person.
