Good morning! 56F @ 7:30 AM. Sunny. High 58F. Winds NE at 10 to 15 mph.
I like the way you can adjust the height of that 3-pt splitter, Rick. Should make your back a lot happier!
I spilled bar oil the first time I tried to seat the cap on a Stihl saw. Really only one way the cap goes on, but several you can get it to turn in like it was sealed, but not. Fortunately the fella that sold me the eBay saw had it figured out: It came full of oil and by some miracle it didn't spew all over the inside of the box. Especially impressive since he left out any sort of packing so the saw head would just bang around in there for the whole trip.
Been waiting almost a week for new lenses, in the mean time using an old pair of glasses that have me doing a lot of things by feel. As I reassembled a pair of carburetors yesterday I went back and gave each of the jets a closer look wearing a pair of 7x Optivisors. Sure enough, the idle jet on one was blocked solid, first time I think I've seen that. And that after a half hour hot ultrasonic soak. A bit of copper wire got it clear again, and the rest of 'em got the same treatment just in case. I was rewarded with an easy startup, and after a little tweaking, a very nice idle. I think that means I'm having lunch in Quincy, a nice hour away up the canyon.
Spent the rest of the day putting away stuff that had piled up behind the bike so I can roll it out the door. And breaking down boxes and sweeping floors. Now the garage is ready for the next project...
Happy Hump Day gang!
