1) Yes you have to drive backwards to use a 3pt snowblower. L2501 is fairly open, and with the rocker pedal it's easy to sit sideways and look over your shoulder. 2) Not A "real man" with open cab, just didnt have the budget to go with enclosed cab. Lol. I did get some snow blowing back over me when the wind was blowing the wrong way. Me and tractor (including dashboard) were coated in snow. When done i was soaked and cold. Need some snow pants for next time. 3) Snow edge works great, hated to pay that much but couldnt find any hardware stores with ABS pipe and storm was coming. Shipped fast and I was ready. Didnt realize ABS was hard to find. Bit the bullet and ordered the better solution. I think i will be very happy with the snow edge.

I get blowback on me all the time when I am ploughing with my open cab tractor and three point blower. Just have to wear waterproof pants and jacket. And a toque, of course!

Snowpants, Balaclava and Ski goggles with the appropriate lens work wonders for work in the snow.

Maybe it is the little extra heat from the engine, but most of the time I do OK with the open cab. The occasional time that I have to move snow in the dark, I start thinking a cab would be nice. I think it is mental, I have that feeling at night whether it is 10F or 30F. I usually avoid blowing snow at night, the visibility is just too tough if there is any wind.
Colorado was off to a slow start on snowpack this winter, but we're doing better now. Here's yesterday:

I do ok too, but any wind and I put on a snowmobile helmet with visor that can be open or partially closed.

Good pic of plow, now add a wing to knock off the berm that builds up and when you don't want to get too close for sliding off the road.

Hey, that's an awesome wing. Is there a thread somewhere with photos of the attachment?
I have a gathering plate on the driver's side of the Unimog which gets me an extra foot on that side. If the plow berm encroaches more than what I have now I can (will) cut it back with that. This is our neighbor's driveway, it's not the most "user friendly" for snow removal but I enjoy doing it.

Found a thread from 2009.

There is no such thing as bad weather, just inappropriate clothing.

Sometimes it is appropriate to wear a cab; sometimes I wear the house.
