I didn't find what I was looking for using the "keeper" word, but didn't know what else it would be called.

Basically, I need something that will keep my hydraulic hose from being so loose that it drags the ground. I've tried zip ties (twice) - that didn't work worth a flip. Now I'm using nylon rope, pretty much the same result, although I probably don't have it tied correctly.

What are you guys using to control your grapple hoses in the front?

If there's an existing thread, point me to it.

Thanks,

Thanks,

I have used a bungee cord for several years and it works beautifully. I would not do it any other way. It is getting about time to replace the bungee though, it is getting pretty ratty and they don't last forever. But for under a dollar, I am good to go. I closed off the hose end of the bungee, and tie wrapped in on the middle of the hoses Then the hook end goes up to one of the hydraulic fittings on on the loader arm. I have never had it come off, and it it stretches and works great. I would have no use for the expensive springs etc. that people sell.

Ditto - James. I use bungee cord for the hydraulic hoses both front(grapple) and rear(hyd top link). They are cheap, will stretch and so far have done a good job keeping everything where it should be.

I used a hard hose mount on the cross arm for a while, and bent it almost immediately. Then I tried bungee cords, but wasn't really satisfied with them. Finally I settled on the spring hose mount that Everything Attachments sells, and it has been perfect.

Can I see a picture of what you've done, James? I'm curious to see what you've done.

Bungee here as well, it comes set up that way from Artillian.

You can't see it well in these pice, but they are the best I have with me:

Ta.

Lets see if this helps. The read arrows denote the ends of the bungee cord. The closed end is in the middle of the hose run and the open hook end is hooked over a FEL fitting. More photos can be seen in my brush grabber attachment thread.

Ta, James! Now I see what you've done.

My FEL 3rd Function jacks end at the R-hand arm as opposed to yours, which end in the middle. My 4in1 has the long hydraulic lines. So far, there's no interference but I'll keep the bungie-cord (also known here as an 'ockie-strap') solution in the back of my noggin for the future.

Very good. I thought of you today while I had the tractor out, and I had the phone in my pocket. :)

I used a spring for a screen door and put a stainless circle loop ( not the correct name ) but don't know what else its called? Works great for me.20160403_195055.jpg

Lots of different ways..:)

And then slip a sleeve over them for further protection.

I'll soon to be embarking on ordering hydraulic bits for my grapple, and I've already got all my bits for my hydraulic top link. With regards to sleeve protectors, what's the general rule for where/when to use them? I'm thinking that anywhere where the hoses are out in the open (or otherwise prone to being snagged) should be sleeved. Some folks, I see, even sleeve hoses along their FEL.

I use a couple large zip ties loosely tied but had a couple failed installs before I got the length vs. movement correct. I do like the bungee cord idea better.
Camera focus is not very good but you get the point: _EM51476.JPG

I used an old trampoline spring and some metal tent stakes on the cross tube. It has worked well for me.
