Good morning. Apart from a few showers, it looks to be quite a pleasant day ahead. I was hoping to spend a bit more time on the little 1 1/2 ton tipping trailer I was given - I may stay dry underneath. It is proving to be a very handy size for little jobs like collecting manure for the garden and deserves some more TLC. It looked quite sad when I first started.



The tongue was easier to straighten with a bit of heat than I expected. My welding skills still have a long way to develop, but I could at least manage to weld in some additional stiffening pieces. Also bought a jack stand and welded it to a piece of plate I had drilled that then bolts onto a matching plate I welded on the side.



I haven't touched the ram or tipping pivots yet, they are crusted in rust. The crumbling hydraulic hose still held clean oil, so I was hoping the cylinder was recoverable. Now it's looking more doubtful. I tried lifting the bed with the loader (with hose end open), but it lifted the entire chassis too. Will have to clean up best I can from underneath and see what some penetrating fluid will do.

56 going up to a warm 80 today, this is due to be a warm week.
Got all my projects done yesterday, washed my truck, cut up the big tree, cut up a smaller pine that had fallen behind the barn, cleaned the golf cart and got it loaded on the trailer, and then painted my front deck steps and my Massey muffler. Gorgeous day out, probably a repeat today.

am off this morning to carport dealer to find out when my 41 foot carport is due in, hopefully this week, and drop off my golf cart where he will install the four seat conversion. Then back to push my string trimmer around the edge of the woods. Regular weedeaters have a tough time with the green thicket vines but the much thicker line on the push unit rips through anything.

Eric, pretty neat little digital inclinometer. Yeah, I'd say that hitch was bent. Very interesting hitch end, seriously heavy duty. Sounds like you have an interesting project there. Was this equipment left outside for years on end? Or just attacked by corrosive poop? The latter not to be taken lightly... Nice repair job btw! Well, so far...you may be in the market for a new cylinder if it's as bent as that hitch.

51F low 70's for high,quick splash rain over night need lot more rain before the ground freeze.
All in all was good weekend,not to wish time away sure hope this work week passes quickly.

Need to pour first cup of coffee. 63° with some light fog. Heading to 76° with sun later in day. .41" rain yesterday. Trees are starting to change colors and leaves are starting to fall. I am sure there things I should be getting done. But it's another putter day.

I'm not sure I've done too many things that were epic in my life time.

Irv, I like that term Adventures for projects. Many of my projects certainly are. I just wrote up a list of new ones, and my son should be coming in Wednesday for another visit, and has offered to help, so saving some for him.
