So this may sound petty, but I was out working on my tractor yesterday, on a nice sunny afternoon after a storm moved out. After working for a bit, maybe 30 minutes, I took a break and noticed that the sun was so strong I couldn't see my dash. I know I should have noticed it earlier, but I was trying to level a high spot in the yard and I was busy looking at the work area and trying to make sure I didn't hit a tree or fence.

My question is this: Does anybody know who makes a glare shield for the BX tractors?

The digital dash on my 2370 is about impossible to read in the daylight. I tried to find one online, but my google-fu skills must not be that strong.

Thanks in advance for any help that can be given.

Mike

I've had some success using polarizing sunglasses to reduce the dash glare when on my L3430.

What's the budget? :)
Get a cab, canopy or sunshade. Otherwise, buy some sunglasses.

Sounds like a job for a piece of cardboard and some duct tape. For the short term anyway.

I think this might be the winner.

I don't have the mechanical know-how enough to figure out how to mount sunvisor. I already wear polarized glasses, and the tractor is wearing a factory canopy. The canopy is nice, but really only shades the seat.

... or do it at a different time of the day?

I researched ways to see a digital camera screen in bright sunlight. Looking at the display through a toilet paper tube came highly recommended. I have yet to try this and can only speculate that a longer tube might work better in your application.

Maybe duct tape an empty toilet paper tube to each lens of your sunglasses? Start an entirely new fashion trend! My F-I-L would buy a set, but only if there was a small amount of paper left on each roll for "field emergencies" if you know what I mean!

I would do this just to make the wifey shake her head and leave me alone to play outside.

Well if you get beyond the prototype stage you can go to sheet plastic and either glue and or gorilla tape and use the cardboard as a template.

I always appreciate the swiss army knife types of Macgyver solutions.

LOL They have a "self -stick, anti glare" film for computer monitors, which, if applied, might do the trick. ??

What is all this discussion about the sun thing? I live in western Washington... My concerns are rain getting into the panel.

I can SO clearly see this in my mind's eye! The ends of the TP flowing gently in the breeze....

That just gave me a flashback to the 1960's Sandy Becker Show & his character, "Hambone":

Perfect! Just need to add a few "streamers"! Maybe one stuck to the corner of the mouth!
