I just bought a new car for less money, ouch.....
Cruising around the internet today and surprising to me is that Honda seems to be winning for what I need. Yamaha and Kawi are probably more durable but that's not a concern. Will keep you posted.Owner's uses of UTVs vary so much I don't think anyone can tell you which one will work best for you. Shop, shop, shop. Get as much seat time as the various dealers will give you. I'm not talking about sitting in the UTV while in the showroom. I'm talking about asking the dealer to let you demo the machines. Even if it's putzing around on the dealership property. Would you buy a new car or truck without test driving it, or keeping it overnight?
2004? You realize that the 2017's are now coming to market...your machine is 13 years old! And if your battery (probably good for 4-5 years regardless) and fuel pump are your only issues, you should not be allowed to complain on anything!
I knew you weren't complaining. Glad you were happy with your choice. Yamaha is on my list to look at. Looking at the comments above, seems that most people are satisfied with whatever brand they chose. That's good to hear. For me it will likely come down to comfort (including leg room). It can get cold here and clothing/boots can get a little bulky.I wasn't complaining a bit, it's been a tough durable machine. Like I said, the wife and grandkids hardly let the engine cool off during the warm months, it's constantly running all over the place. With the luck I've had out of this one, when I do get another one, Yamaha will be were I start looking.
Went and drove the Cam-am , really wanted to love it but couldn't get past the rubber belt issues. Drove the new Honda, wow, they did their homework ! Six speed auto gear drive, very impressed!
I guess the thing with CanAm is that they are the "Ski-Doo" company that has made quality snowmobiles for decades. Worth a look I think. I did venture into their site yesterday but think they might be beyond my budget. I was hoping to keep the cost at around $10,000 for a decent 2 seat machine with a decent sized cargo bed. I guess I was an optimist going in because from what I see it ain't gonna happen. Waiting for quotes from a few dealers now and will be taking a long drive on Monday.Yeah, they look like a good design. Honda has used similar drive systems before and were successful.

Can't possibly be a Wrangler...that Jeep has to be the most profitable vehicle ever sold...a tin can on wheels with no luxury appointments whatsoever (I bought one in 2001...my son still has it).The Chrysler Jeep Dealer is advertising brand new Jeeps at $9,999 after all rebates and promotions...
Of course they are stripped down 4 cyl manual transmission but under 10k...

I've got the credit union ad at home... the website lists them without the credit union discount at 10,999... about half of the loaded Kubota I looked at...
