Which fluid are you using in HST models?

My manual list several different preferred brands but basically just says has to meet GL-4 specs. The reason I ask is I had to buy a couple gallons because of a leak and what come in my tractor was not the Mahindra branded stuff because it is red in color and what i drained out was normal UTF color. Also the Mahindra stuff is $18 a gallon. So which brand are those of you with HST using and did you notice any more or less whine from transmission when you changed it. Was thinking I will just go with the Rotella HD or travelers brand from local tractor supply anyone use either of those.

I've been using TSC premium for a year now, very satisfied. No noticeable increase in whine.

Ditto, used 10 gallons of TSC Premium Universal fluid in both of the changes I have done on my 5035 so far. Will do the same with my 2555 if I ever get some hours on it.... [ with Mahindra sourced OEM filters ] Had some rear end/transmission whine on the 5035 'till the gears lap'd themselves in, but didn't or don't notice any other whine.. maybe because of the big grin I have when using the HST closes off some of my ear canals...

Ditto. I have a shuttle/gear not that it matters much. It just has to be formulated for later model machines with wet brakes and such. The TSC premium stuff list's Mahindra among many others on the back label.

Many cheaper UTFs don't have the necessary additives for wet brakes, HSTs etc.

I would have thought more people would have used the Rotella HD fluid. Good to hear the Traveller brand is working good since it is readily available.
