The r****, a 10/22 carbine, had the standard wooden stock. Not a bad looking stock, actually.
The Hogue is a better grip and definitely a better butt pad.
The wooden stock has a barrel band. That's not used with the Hogue stock, so the barrel is free-floating

I finally (after a couple weeks) had the chance to shoot this one. The trigger has a bit longer reset than the Takedown 10/22 I got about 2 months ago.
I ran about 25-35 rounds through it earlier today. Feeds nicely and, I must be getting better with my trigger pull as most of the rounds were centered and pretty well grouped at 15-20 yards.
This r**** was a package deal (Sportsman's Guide) which included a 25 round Ruger magazine, a 3x9 scope and 500 rounds of .22LR. I'll need to buy or borrow a bore sighter to sight in the scope.

Nice r****, but I'd recommend the 10/22 Takedown over it due to the convenience of carry. I'd like to get a Hogue stock for the Takedown as well...not real enthusiastic about the camo stock that came with the r****, but there wasn't any choice of stocks available (through Sportsman's Guide).

farmland next to mine in feed corn got harvested today, believe they did well, old combine going by my pitiful rows of storm damaged sunflowers.

I successfully brought home a full trailer load of logs and brush from the downed tree, using the tractor and wagon. First I installed a SMV on the rear of the trailer/wagon. Used the grapple to pick up the heavy stuff of course without much weight on the rear, and right next to a big dropoff into the road ditch. But my testing showed my weighted rear tires were doing pretty well so if I was careful I could do it without driving all the way home to get my ballast box. Which I was prepared to if it seemed tippy. Had enough weight in the bucket the curl function would not work. Talk about moving slowly, carefully, don't hit my nice steel sided trailer, don't back up too far into the ditch, very cramped corners, working right above ditch, had the helper watch the distance between the front bumper and the trailer. I did a number on my last trailer; determined to not repeat that. Tomorrow I'll grapple them out of the trailer and onto the burn pile. All told good seat time but not overly pleasant working next to a dropoff.

Well Mrs. and I clean up and stack goods out back of woodshed,Mrs. did all tractoring...scraping/leveling etc. came out looking darn nice,than she smooth driveway.

Afternoon figure out best way get into one area pull some old spruce stumps Sunday.

I gotta pay my help so taking Mrs. out to dinner.

Good day today, I feel a lot better. Thanks for the good thoughts. Back to helping my sister and her husband work on their building today, more tomorrow. Going to put up 5/8 fire rated drywall on a ceiling. Going to use my harbor freight drywall lift. For $150 bucks a few years ago, it really saves my back! I bought a extra mast for it, it goes to 15ft. The ceiling is 14 feet. While working on this, I got a couple of ideas for projects around here.....

Easy, but enjoyable day yesterday. Just rode the bus, tram, S bahn around the city sightseeing, hopping on and off as we wished. 2 day tickets at 7 euro each made it a bargain. Most of our travels were in former East. Amazing amount of construction ongoing in this city.

This is an East German guard tower just down from the apartment. Famous as the guards shot a guy trying to swim to freedom just days after border closed. Brother maintains it as a memorial.

Glad the cold war is mostly over, but still plenty of problems in the world. I love cordon bleu chicken. Thanks for taking us along!

So much for the "cool" front. It did cool down temporarily maybe 10 degrees, but now it's back up to 98 in the shade.

Got finished mowing finally this am. Now it is time to start over again with the growth we are having. Arghhh.

We have a 6' Bushhog 286 and I went to JD this morning to settle up on the clutch lining plates and inquired about new blades....Ouch! $50 apiece....I thought the price of metal is low. They are only giving .04 cents/pound at the scrap yard....What gives? New bolts are $about $14 each too. I believe we are using the 3rd set of blades for 14 years of use, so amortized, roughly $25/year for blades...Don, sometimes I wish I had an 8' or 10' cutter, at least until I have to work on it and replace parts that is.

Kyle that is not normal. He was either on Coumadin or had a blood disorder. If he was on Coumadin he should have had his medication adjusted.
