Oil Change 2538

Here is a pic of my two plugs. I cleaned one off for comparison. Looks a little "hairy" but I hear that is normal especially for first oil change. Figured I would post incase someone wants to compare. I did put just over the suggested 5 liters in there trying to get the dipstick to show between the lines but it still reads just below the bottom. Anyone else read low but measure the right amount? Do I dare keep adding?

Mine came in smack dab in the middle. Start the engine so you know the filter is full then check it again and add small little amounts till you're happy with the level. I was thinking of cross hatching the end of the dipstick to make it easier to read. I have to really squint my old eyes to see where it is. Was it fun getting the old filter loose? LOL
Oh yeah if anything your drain plugs are less hairy than mine were. I had some fuzz on both of them.

That looks about right. Mine was worse, but I do have more iron in the 3550.

It was RTV gasket material that was trapped by the metal filings. I hope. That's what it felt like. Permatex makes blue sensor safe RTV. Don't know what they use in India that's blue.

Well if there wasn't any fuzz at all you were cheated so take that tractor back to where you bought it and demand some action. LOL
