Welcome Gabriel,

I asked a similar question to the following a while back and don't think anyone responded. The Soviet era Belarus tractors that I've seen have the seats very high and it seems that this would greatly increase visability for loader work. Can you tell me whether that's the reason for the high seats?

Hi Stuckmotor,

Thanks for your question,

You are right that the seats are quite high as it would aid visiblity, Used to create comfortable conditions for the driver and keep vibrations down as he/she steers the tractor on the move. 2_80v_6800000_siden_e.png

Gabriel,
Thank you for confirming what I suspected. I'm considering rasing the seat on my MF so I won't have to stand up to see the ends of the forks.

I need help finding information about price and availability of add on power steering units for the 250 AS. I've thought about the electric operated that some have been adapting but I would like to check on the original that was offered as an option on the tractors. Any help would be appreciated.

Are Belarus tractors currently being built? If so, where?

Are they being marketed in North America? If so, what technology is employed to be EPA compliant?

Thanks.

Curious about this, too. I looked at Belarus tractors in Maryland when I was first tractor shopping 25 yrs ago. Not fancy, and not available here with HST back then, which I needed. But, man, they were a whole lot of machine for the money!

Yes of course ;) , but unfortunately in Belarus.
Although some countries also have assembling plants.
I permanently reside in Belarus with my family and i am into sales and supply of all Belarus brand of tractors,agricultural/construction machinery and equipment plus their spares working as the Business development and sales manager at Technodvor LLc.
Of course you can find so many tractors being EPA compliant, as for example you have a 920 model which would have 920.2, 920.3 , 920.4, 920.5 which indicates the emission compliant levels.
You can also take a look at the models available on the official website of the factory at Минский тракторный завод

My rockshaft on one of our 250as's froze up. The lift arms were moving slow and seem to labor when rising or lowering and I suspected of course a hydrualics issue. Turns out the rockshaft (shaft runs through the back housing from left pickup arm to right arm) was freezing up and finally stuck!! My brothers Belarus, same model, has a grease zerk between the 2 lift arms on the housing and mine don't have one and no hole where its ever had one. I drilled the case and was lucky as I hit a cavity where the zerk should be (I think) It took several days of filling the hole with rust remover and penetrating oil. Anything you think I could have used I've probably tried it already.

Anyway it finally broke loose this morning and moving again. It's still laboring a bit but I can tell it starting to loosen up. I run it through several cycles of up and down until the hydraulics got pretty warm. Let it cool then done it again. When I think most of the rust is free I'll install a grease zerk and maybe that'll keep this from happening again.

Does anyone know how this rockshaft comes out. New ones are available and I assume there's bushings in there ? Hopefully it won't be needed but would like to know how to get it out. I don't see any locking rings on either side holding it and it just a shaft sliding through with splines on each end. The housing it slides into can be had to but at $400 + don't want to damage or break it. It's cast iron.

I've read a few posts here and there and got info over the years of owning these things. Thanks. It's going to work itself out I'm sure and maybe won't need to remove it.

I was mostly just suggesting to everyone to check to see if their's had the zerk or if it does remind them to grease it.
