Found a Everlast 256 S Tig, Stick, Plasma cutter on Craigs list this morning. They said they had used it about 6 hr and it looked like it was true. Has an air cooled torch and a water cooled torch with a cooler, electrode holder, regulator, foot peddle, plasma torch and a fancy ground clamp that looks like vice grip C clamps. He threw in a bunch of little things and I brought it home for $1750. That is what the machine costs without the water torch and cooler. Don't need it but it will be fun.

Don glad to hear Whipper is better so fast.

I run a Davis Vantage Vue here, and just this morning the outside temperature sensor started reporting about 12 degrees too high. Last fall both the outside humidity and temperature sensors stopped reporting. I disassembled and repotted them, and they started working again. Don't have time to mess with it now, but you'd think for $400+ it would last more than three years...:thumbdown:

I had the same problem with my Accurite and it turned out a spider had web stopped the solar air circulation fan and the temp would report 10-15˚ hotter when the sun hit it.

Can you give a few more details. That's what my accurite is doing. I was thinking about going to a Davis.

Good evening all. 81F this morning partly cloudy with near calm wind. Made it to 100F some cloud build up but no rain. Yesterday had some pop-up storms nearby, but no rain here. Consulting all day

Can you give a few more details. That's what my accurite is doing. I was thinking about going to a Davis.

Take the screws out that hold the top and bottom half together (but not the middle screws or you will mess up the rain gauge). Look for spiderwebs around the little fan that is powered by the little solar panel and clear it. After the fan gets going again you should get closer to the actual temperature but on a hot day with a lot of sun it will still read up to 5˚ hotter than it really is. There is a good youtube that shows how to do it - I'll look for it.

I had a Vue also was not happy with it only lasted about 2 years but the Vantage Pro I have had for 9 years now sent it in for a refurb and only cost $125.00 to totally redo it! Much cheaper than buying a new unit after 9 years!
