Life is getting better, at least I think so.
had ignored window ac for a few days. Just didn't want any more frustration.
Got it all together today & even in the window & working. It is Disappointing only makes cool air not cold. & fan does not blow very hard. Should I ever get another it will be a different brand. Screws that I talked about just about pulled out. OH well may it will help.
For sure am not going to even try to send it back.

I shouldn't complain beer is cold & I have lots of food. more than a lot of folks. Truck runs even if ac does not work.

Poor Bobby, took tic's off her for a long time this am, seems like the more I take off the more come back. Went through it again a little while ago, then sprayed her with flying bug spray. it seems to be working, got anther 1 off her Its legs were moving slow then quit. Don't like the smell but she does not seem to object.

Had a friend named Doug, retired airline pilot. Quite the character He & I got the scooter races started. He with my help built a real fancy score board. Built a cage for the lap counter to sit in. Engines were limited to .25 CU., I was running a .21 & winning most of the races. First he banned my engine, I kept winning, so next he made a kit so that everyone had the same plane & engine. Still kept winning, used a speed prop, a little slow on take off, but soon was winning again. I found an old hobby shop that still had them as they were no longer made. he didn't ban them, but said I should share the secret with every one. I had marked out the pitch & diameter on them.
A little later a friend told him i had a secret glow plug. Pure BS, but he beloved it.:laughing:

New AC is getting better, not as cold as IO had hoped. but cold enough If i lay down in front with my had out, soon have to move it. Bobby girl really likes it, lays down so that it blows on her.

You might check the inside of that AC unit as well as behind the filter of it. We recently replaced all the window units on the guard post shacks along with a few other small buildings around the complex not too long ago at work. Seemed like every other one of them had some piece of packing material either partially or completely blocking the condenser, as well one of them had a piece of plastic blocking half of the airflow to the evaporator and one of them had a piece of paper behind the installed filter.

Also, fast talking people have annoyed me my entire life. I am a Texan, slow drawl and all. I married a wonderful woman from Flushing Queens New York, not that her fast talking annoys me, not ever, nope, no sir, not at all. Not even when she points out that it is cute that I talk fast when I am angry or annoyed now, apparently it started about a year after we married.

Ha, my wife bought an air cleaner... was going for a couple of months before I decided to "clean" the filter. Didn't need to clean it at all, I just removed the plastic wrap from around the filter and it was good as new!!! :dance1:

Window AC is working fine. takes it a while to warm up or maybe cool up.

TV looked for some computer speakers, that I knew I had. No luck. Some day may see what I can find. Don't want big guys.
Put rolled up towels on top & under it. Sure helps a lot. 1 Small problem can't turn TV on or off & sound will not work.
Cure is raise TV a little, & it still works.

A friend of mine was teaching another friend to fly RC. A wing came off a plane & said I'm going to get that wing, Nearly impossible, but really peed off my friend. I took over teach him to fly. He started to mouth off again. I turned the plane upside down & handed him the transmitter. That shut him up for a little while. He bought a tiny house, chopped a hole in the wall & set TV outside. He was a contractor & could do good wok if he had too. But always left at least one board no installed. He was really a nice person, just a pain in the butt.

My friend Doug built a F82 ( sort of a twin Mustang, I also knew the person that made the flight from the west coast to Hawaii )
He spent a lot of $$ to get 2 custom built engines,. The day he wanted to test fly the plane the was a strong wind across the runway. Had him aim it into the wind. instantly it went vertical. The plane was very fast e stable flier. in a little while 1 engine quit. Still stable flying plane. He panicked & wanted me to land. His plane so I landed,. He never trusted me to fly the plane again.

Jim way back like '61 or '62 the government was looking for a hermit that had invented and patented a method to self level and airplane. There was a reward for information of his where about supposed to be south of Sierra ,Ariz.
Your mentioning of your flying reminded me of this.
The airport at Douglas had some interesting planes. some group was rebuilding and selling planes into Mexico and points south.

Kind of getting mixed up on which tv you are having a problem with one with no picture or loss of channels or now bad sound.
Then your a/c window unit.
A person I worked with bought one of the campers that folded down to about 4 feet and when setting up raised poles to be able to get inside. said when camping it was unbearable to sleep inside due to the heat of the canvas top.
suggested to install window unit on tongue so would blow into the camper. about week later came to work said it was worse than no a/c went to his house and saw he needed to turn the unit around told him controls on inside if cannot read instructions.
I see that your getting rain and floods in area of the state. are you getting wet.

Only went to Douglas 6/7 times, last time I was about 16. I think you could see the airport from the hwy. But not sure
One of our planes lost an engine near Douglas. Tower wanted them to land, being a sea plane not very practical.
They went Truth or Consequence NM Landed on a lake. Took several days to get engine & put it on. Town treated them like royalty.
Although I worked on engines while in Navy, never after that. Went Airport in Phoenix Mechs could not even get minimum wage.

Rained for 7/8 days straight, from just a few drops to almost 1/2". Never seen it rain here that often.

Window ac is working pretty good. Swamp box not doing so hot. Barely making cool air. Am smart enough to install it the right direction.

New TV is working fine except the sound is very poor. Improved it a little today cut away part of the Styrofoam pacing things & sat in there it does help. The stand that was supposed to come with is was missing. though about seeing if they would send me 1, but don't really want it.

The bug fight goes on & I'm not sure that I'm winning.

Sad day don't even feel like drinking beer. Nothing to so with being sad, rarely feel like eating, & don't even get hungry.

Went in back bedroom & found a dead squirrel there. All dried up, just bones I skin left.
Doves roost in trees, I though, & most of they do. Dogs jumped off the ramp a few days ago & several flew off the ground. ???
Heard the coyotes this am first time in several days

When I get the deck glassed in may move the AC out there & get a stronger 1 for bed room.

Had an uncle that lived in Douglas, he went in a bar 1 night to have a beer. 5 Mexicans started giving him a hard time. He invited them outside. backed up against a wall, then proceed to kick the crap out of them, For some reason they never bothered him again.
He was a Cat Skinner in the 30's & 40s.

At the grammar school there was a real high slide with some humps in it. Sitting on waxed paper, you would fly off the humps, & several feet off the end. Also some swings, about 30' high, you could really get going on them, until the chains went slack.
Things that would never be allowed to day.

There was a mine on the edge of town with a real high tailing dump Sit on a piece of tin & you could really build up speed on the way down.

More later when I have more unimportant things to say.
