About 13 years ago I bought a brand new Stihl 360 PRO! Used it for 2 weeks and would bind when cranking. I was furious, took it up to the dealer still very mad, they called me and said the failure was my fault! I said WHAT? They showed me that the oil pump and bearing were gone, and the cover was melted, clutch was over heated! Still made and hot under the collar, they offered to charge me for parts only! They would bite the labor. The next day I asked my Dad who used the saw, did you run it with chain brake on? Yes I let it on, with the saw on fast idle to warm it up, as it was cold out!!!! Well ooops guess it was "MY" fault! I called the dealer apologized, asked to pay the labor, they said no... Was on US! I have bought 3 more saws, and every single STIHL part from them since!
Moral of the story, Find a good honest dealer, bite you tongue, and work with them!
From what I read LS will help you, but in the case they don't a simple call to corporate usually helps! I would feel that they within reason will work with you! But again they are in business to make money!
