Good morning!!!!

well it appears I fibbed. But not intentionally. 7.7 inches of rain over two days, not one. Realized I had not dumped the rear gauge since before I left to the shore.
Front gauge above five inches; that I dumped when I got home. So, maybe an inch plus two nights ago, five plus last night. That makes more sense with the mess I found. Turtles had moved around a little but not much. Now I'm off to rake all that crud away.

Went down to West Marine to spend 20 bucks of use it or lose it bucks, and got a nice blue Columbia spf 30 shirt for 20 bucks instead of 40. That's more like it. Particularly since I've gotten out of boating, like West Marine saying goodbye. What I have spent in those places in the last twenty years...

the water coming out of my woods is remarkably darker than the rainwater. Lot of tannin I guess from the pine trees.

Log dog and attaching hardware picked up from Bair's.

Spindle/knuckle seals and o-rings picked up from Akron Tractor. Turns out they were a little cheaper ($2) than online and the other local place that didn't have them anyways. Did not pick up the seals for the axle shafts ... they don't appear to be leaking, but at around $7 a pop I'm wondering if I will regret not replacing them.

Service writer was at lunch so I got to spend some time talking with a mechanic, who seemed to be a real nice guy, asking a few questions. Got some tips and tricks on disassembling the bucket cylinders to replace the seals, when I get around to that job.

Also got some advice on replacing the seals on the front axle ... didn't seem like it would be too bad a job, just somewhat involved. He did mention that typically when they get into them they do replace the axle seals as well as the spindle seals. Need to clean off the tractor and make sure it is only the upper seals (spindle) that are leaking.

Picked up 5 quarts of gear oil @ AutoZone on the way home.

Called A T ... they don't have the axles seals in stock but at $6 and change apiece I told him to go ahead and order them ... should have them by Wednesday.

Probably take me that long to get the shop cleaned up enough to fit the tractor in to work on it ...

Good morning all. 62 here this am going to 82. 60% chance of showers and thunderstorms. Going to rent an ozone generator in the storage units to get rid of the musty smell today. If the rental place has it as they said. Rained all day yesterday, don;t know how much. weather station is still in a box. Have a great day. Ed

Too bad you don't live closer, I have two of them at work. Be careful and don't purposely breath the ozone. It will eat any rubber or latex stuff. What do they rent for?

68 this morning high of 82 small chance of rain today. Working today another day in paradise. WVA took the brunt of the flooding with lots of damage and over 20 lost their lives very sad

73 going up to 83 today in cooler weather and rain showers coming in.
the WV flooding really is bad Buppies, what a lot of damage. This must have been the storm that dumped 7 inches of rain here.
West Virginia flooding: At least 23 dead, governor says - CNN.com

Am interviewing a new teenage helper this morning. First challenge will be to see if he shows up on time. If he looks ok, might have him do some work Sunday afternoon here. Weather looks better for tomorrow anyway.

David, your temps in Hawaii seem remarkably cool. 70 degree day highs? Somehow I thought it would be hotter there.

47 right now...heading up to 86 today.
Today's plan is start mowing early (NLT 0900) if the grass is dry from the morning dew. A dump run is on the schedule too...I'll fit that in this morning too.
Break during the heat of the day, then finish mowing tonight, if that's necessary.

Kile, It would have been nice but it cost $88 for 24 hr's and the rental store is maybe a 1/4 mi from here. Did not know about the rubber and latex. I have an old Italian made tiller tiller, a Tuffy that I can only get parts for at Earth tools in Kentucky so I hope I have no problems. Ed
