Got some tilling and bush hogging to do today.

Had a nice Father's day in NC at a family reunion/pig picking...ate too much home cooking and then 3 hour trip home, but late enough that I-95 was easy.

Good morning all, 53 this am going to 88 and no chance of rain. I must be going through my second childhood. My wife got me two pairs of short britches
for Fathers day. I thought I out grew them many years ago. Nice peaceful day, we did clean out part of the basement and made plans on where we are going to put things down there. The people that moved out left some things there to get later. (we agreed to it) and last night they gave me a pool table. It is a 7ft table with no slate in it but I now have a pool table. Back in the day I used to make about $140 a week playing pool. I wonder if I can even come close to hitting the pocket now.

Daugen Hope your beach trip goes well, maybe utube has a video that will help with the hitch.

they come at night, I've never ever seen a deer on my property.

Nice morning, mid 60's, 90° later and more humid. Got a couple of exterior door frames wire brushed and painted. Been here 4 and half years, the door we use 90% of the time was fine, the other two frames needed paint, who knows?
Had our daughter, son in law and grandson over, they brought some fresh caught tuna, steamed shrimp and deviled eggs, I marinated and cooked the tuna and some burgers and dogs. Surprise visit, but it made my day!

72 this morning and headed to 92. Currently 83.

Well today is chicken coop repair day. Then take wife in for a doctor appointment. Hopefully I get to start J channel on building today. I'm trying to get a crew together for tomorrow. Oh and mowing needs finishing. Pictures of the boy are done. I also have a dozer to reassemble at some point too.

Good Afternoon! 89F @ 12:30 PM. Plentiful sunshine. High 93F. Winds light and variable.

Off to a slow start today just unpacking and recovering from the trip. Going to be a warm one, so not much more than paperwork on the agenda.

Big surprise Saturday night after dinner and all the other drawing prizes and awards had been given out when they called my name:

Not bad for a 26 year old bike with a funny paint job:laughing:

Was making good time coming home yesterday, so when I got to Reno at 4PM I decided I could make it the rest of the way. Turned out to be a good idea because it was Father's Day and a Sunday and all the road construction crews had the day off. Nearly 700 miles in about 13 hours, just sitting there at a steady 65 MPH watching the scenery go by. Bike ran great, but did get a surprise getting onto I15 when the spoiler came off the front windscreen and hit me in the face. I just pulled over, picked it up off the pavement, and stashed it so I could put it back on with some fresh Velcro later. Sure made for a noisy ride, though.

That's what those big circles you see from the airplane look like from the ground. And no, I didn't stop to see how much he wanted for the tractor! :laughing:

Musta been the two cups of coffee I had with breakfast, but I didn't get drowsy even once.

Mowed some of the yard. Deer came pretty close when mowing. They would run off, then come back. Then they would stand just inside the woods watching me. So i put the deer fence around the garden.

Got back from bike ride yesterday, 430 mile in 7 days riding, lot of Civil war stuff in the area, in addition to the earthquake stuff. Very flat ride, several days had less feet of climb than on training rides 1/2 the distance! Mowed today and had 2 hour nap wife woke me up to see if I was alright.

7 continuous days on bike, I am little envious. Were you riding in a group ? At least if it was flat you would be able to talk to one another, instead of gasping for breath up climbs.

Good morning. Again I find myself looking back with fond memories of the days that started with the clang of a mechanical wind up alarm clock, with no concept of a "snooze" button to postpone getting up in a morning. No trying to get back to that nice dream, it was get up immediately, plain and simple.

This morning my mobile phone played it's little tune to tell me it was market day, so no snoozing, but my head, still in a blur, knew just enough to tell my right arm that there was nothing going to market today, so my right arm made a half hearted attempt to turn the alarm off. If head and arm had simply worked together for a few seconds more, I would have had an extended lay in and woken up refreshed, instead of now feeling like I have a hangover.

For the next half hour, alarms of every description played at seemingly random intervals. Each time my head didn't want to know what was going on and told my right arm to sort it. My right arm did it's best, but without a head to help, it's attempts to bring peace and calm would last for only a few minutes at best. Eventually my brain stayed conscious enough to conclude the "app" had slipped from alarm clock mode to torture mode.

I will be okay soon, I just need a little nap ...

Where was the civil war stuff. My bucket list includes Gettysburg, Vicksburg, Appamatox. I read everything I can on the war.

Let me know if you come this way for Appomattox. There are some other interesting battlefields nearby, like Fredericksburg, Petersburg, Spotsylvania, Wilderness, North Anna, Cold Harbor and others.

Coffee has been poured. 50° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 80° with partly sunny skies. Yesterdays thunderstorms just diapered off radar about 50 miles west of me. Another doctor appointment today. Want to get back on tractor to cut lawn at a slow speed.
Wngsprd, I had coworker that told me he had to take his wife with him in the morning. She was too ugly (like let me sleep) to kiss goodby in the morning.
Eric, control the alarm clock and iPhone. Much easier than other options.
Mostly_gas, sitting on bike seat for one whole day would be to much for me. Let alone 7. Very impressive ride.
