There's a few things a man can never have too much of. Ammo is one. I'm short.
When they talk about it on the news, they make 500 rounds sound like a life time supply. It's nothing to blow off 100 rnds of 7.62x39, 9x18, 9x19, ect in a afternoon.

So that's where the CUP term for pressure comes from. Thanks for the info.

Yep, Copper Units of Pressure. and LUP or Lead Units of Pressure for shotguns.

Bought some 20 gauge ammo couple weeks ago, 250 rounds #6 and some 1/2 0z slugs. Did 200 rounds of skeet shooting, had the the full choke in and still seemed like I wasn't reaching out very far, so I tried the turkey tube and I did see the difference, I was hitting skeet 75 ft+ a lot more often, had fun and arm got sore.

Yesterday I wanted a couple vent holes in an old freezer for outside side storage, I thought, we'll I haven't tried the slugs yet, after only one shot my arm got sore, I was thinking why does this gun kick so much it's only a 20 gauge slug, then I looked at the barrel, DAM, I forgot the turkey choke is still in the barrel. It's a wonder the gun didn't blow apart, talk about not paying attention, as soon as I can, I'm painting that black turkey tube florescent orange.

If you were shooting a Forster slug, there is no problem. A Brenneke might put a little more pressure on the choke tube. Forster slugs can be shot through any choke, though their best accuracy usually happens with an IC.

I thought the Full+ Turkey chokes where outside of what the manufactures considered 'ok' for Forster'

Heard on the radio this place called "Pink Pistols" that cater to the LGBT crowd is having record sales! I think that's great!
Pink Pistols: Orlando Terror Shows Why Gays Should Arm Themselves

The Pink Pistols is a group...gay folks who are firearms enthusiasts. The group has been around for years, in fact. I'd read of the group on the PA Firearms Owners forum 8 or 10 years ago.
Frankly, I think it's great such a group promulgates the right to bear arms.

Any slug + turkey choke (which is more constricted than a full choke) = very bad idea. It obviously went thru and the barrell did not split, but still not a good idea

This 9 minute video will help illustrate this

The Remington Slugger boxes I have doesn't say Foster, just say 5/8 or 1/2 oz. The 5/8>hollow point Rifled Slugs, and can be fired through any choke....<my arm says different, and says IC is best. The 1/2>High velocity, RS, 1800 fps, So how does one know if it's Foster stile or not? Either way, the turkey tube is bright orange now, really shows up when it's in the gun.

No, I didn't make that up. A piezoelectric pressure transducer is usually glued on to the barrel of a test firearm. This is the modern method that pressure is measured in test barrels of firearms. The old method decades ago was to measure pressure with a copper or lead crush pellet in a fixture on the barrel. The pressure crushed the pellet of copper (rifles and pistols) or lead (for shotguns) then the pellet was removed and measured with a micrometer. Then calculations were performed from the measurements to determine the pressure in the barrel. The Piezo method actually measures the stretch in the steel under the area of the transducer, and sends and electrical pulse to a computer to perform A/D (analog to digital) conversion, and perform the calculation to determine peak pressures.

At least that is how I think it works. If you need more info, you can consult a ballistician. A technician that works in a ballistic laboratory. :) Of which I am not one.

Did you think to Mic your turkey choke and see if it was still in spec.? I bet it stretched a bit. I seriously would examine it for any possible cracks. It is probably fine though.

If you would like to know more about the piezoelectric effect in general I have some knowledge of that and some practical experience with that. If I have already bored the heck out of everyone, I will shut up now. :)

My son has great eye sight and didn't see any cracks, but recheck after a few more rounds just to make sure. With choke tubes on a lot of shotguns now wonder if someone has done that pressure test with slugs on Youtube.
