Just a little older than dirt. Will be 77 in Nov.

Went to town today. Some good & some not so good. When in pain judgement is impaired. Don't buy grocery's on an empty belly.

Picked up beer, little cigars & added $5 to savings.

At Safeway store, water Mellon $5, Tortillas 2 for $5 & some ribs fairly cheap.

Food City, , egg plant, like those guys, More tortillas. Then off to Fry's Pecan pie, Other little items. So far so good. Piutting things in truick, foir got bread & milk Go back in or forget them??? By now my back is really talking to me & not saying good things. Get bread & milk.

On way home sip a couple of beers. See friend he pretty busy, see other friend, he out of beer, by now the cold is getting warm. He drinks 1 & I gave him 2 for later.

Riley ( bone pile ) meats me at neighbors, jumps in truck stomping on me on her way.

By now its hot, I'm hot, Most every thing you night touch is hot. Light cooler, sit on deck get cool & let back settle down some.

Get food out of truck of or to he!! with it??? Don' want it to spoil or Bony to steal it. Several trip[s a little at a time.

Finally get to lay down & give back a rest.

Think I have told most of the good stories. Will try a couple more, more funny than serious.
At night town was pretty quiet most of the time.

Had a parade. :laughing:
Some of the kids came to me & wanted something to do, Friday night so no school the next day.
Told them to get all there friends with cars & line up in front of city hall. Had 15 or so cars & we very slowly cruised around town. Every car stopped at the stop signs. Lasted maybe an hour or a little less. They had fun. Didn't use the police car. Had an Oldsmobile convertible with top down & some sitting on top of back seat.
Next day chief told me he could not believe that I did that.

Stopped a car load of Mexicans for speeding. Driver had license & registration. But said he could not speak English. While writing him a ticket, I ask a few questions in English. Never looking up & very soft voice. He answered all of them quit well. As I finished the ticket told him it was a lesson in English.

Just stood up long enough to make a sandwich. Man did my back start talking to me. & it had nothing good to say.

Anxious to get clutch on AC, but took today off any way.

Have a rat, first seen him in the big grill. Might be a pack rat, plastic silver ware scattered all over & under the grill. some tin foil, avocado nut, maybe other stuff.
Have a pellet rifle that Cody liked, can't find the 1 I liked.
Cody misplaced it along with tray from toaster oven, & ice cream scoop.
Shot at rat & missed. Second shot though I might have hit him. Nope 3 Time, pretty sure I hit him.
Put some dog food, bird seeds & small squash out to lure him back. Shot at squash did hit it a couple of times. Cody had sight set all the way up. Got it back down.
Ha better chance of hitting him should he come back.

Pickle fork is something I dreamed up to dig a narrow ditch for a water line. Also cut down a shovel to clean the ditch.

H a another 1 but caan't up load it. Works fine on computer but tbm says its not a picture file.
May convert it to some other format& try again. It only digs about 12 inches.

Instead of getting better things got worse with pictures.
Now my other typing got ate.

Trying again. Had some fun critter stories typed in. All Gone. Also 3 picks 0f pickle fork 4 computer ate #3.

Frustrated After a morning of real frustration.

Did you ever catch people in a "compromising position"? I suppose every officer has caught a few doing crazy stuff inside cars with fogged up windows...lol Nahh, not me....well, maybe me and the red head way way back in the "drive-in" days...lol :ashamed: Officer just rapped on the window with that big honking flashlight they use to carry in the olden days and said, "straighten up in there". Whoops, didn't even know what the movie was about. :confused2:

That's the stuff that made drive in movie theaters so liked by teenagers.

Well before getting into the really stupid stuff that goes on around here.
Rattle snake laying across barn door this am. Almost never used fire arm on a snake. Little pistol was fairly close & didn't what it go get away. By the time I got back it was leaving, so shot it in the gut & used a near by board to drag it out. First shot at head missed, it must have moved its head. Second shot got it. Lopper not to fr away, cut its head off. do a fair job & that's fine. leave it there & off to get dog food, bird seeds & propane. Bobby hates gun noise & goes into house. Riley does not mind & goes with me.
Move it out where I can see it want to see if a buzzard will come that close and what the road runner does.
Went to barn real early this AM & big hop toad sitting there ( eating dog food?? ) after I step over it it hoops away.
Pack rat has moved into big bar b q. Mad a real mess. On the walk way to barn put dog food & bird seeds. It moved all the dog food to grill. Gut shot it. It ran into bushes but came back right away. 4 shots same thing. Get out little gun, 2 shots in the gut, same thing. When in town got correct (?) tool for ac clutch.
Take off fan shroud. Tool does not fit, too big. Maybe it fits new clutch. Nope its even smaller than the original.
Hope to get $$$ back on both, next trip to town.
Last hurrah for me & AC. Have new compressor installed by someone else.
Let back settle down & go to it in the am. Work & work trying to get shroud back on. 1+ hours of frustration. No luck, even thought I have done it several times. Think about & have a beer, will look at it tomorrow,. Some dummy was trying to put it on backwards. Hey, now I can get it done. Goes on fairly easy, hard to get bolts in, got enough to hold it secure, & let it rip.
Just to add to the fun, knock battery cables out of their clamp. Had them come loose before, but can not get them to go in this time. When loosing clamp drop nut. No big deal, have lots of 1/4" nuts. Nuts in clamp are 1/4", get nuts & home free. Not so fast, nuts in clamp are undersized on outside.
Git piece of all thread & 2 nuts & we are good to go. Well first, trim up cables & cut a little of the covering off. Now were going to git without any problems.
It would be almost easy if I had 3 hands, can''t find the third on, will just muddle on.
Its back together & all is working. time to get beer & let back rest.

Words of wisdom. OK I know that I'm not so wise.
Rattle snake myths.
They don't quit moving until after dark. Wrong
Wave your gun barrel in there face & they will start to follow it. Another false tale.
Truths they can inject poison when dead.
A fairly healthy good sized dog will survive there bite. It will be sore miserable & swollen for a while.
Very few adult humans die form a rattle snake bite. read some where about 6 in the USA a year. But you should still go to DR. or hospital if possible.

Some health tips.
Brush your teeth with salt & rinse with salt water. far better for you than commercial stuff.
Honey if real good to use on cuts. Natural antibiotic. Used by in Egypt thousands of years ago.
Most folks know aloe plant is good for burns.

When out in the sun wear long sleeved shirts & long pants. The sun cooks the life out of your skin & can lead to melanoma.
I spent too many years in short sleeves, slightest bump & it would bleed.

And of course Beer is Good food. :thumbsup:

About 6 years old went for my first &* last helicopter ride. Army brought one to Tombstone & for $1 dollar they took adults for a ride. Kids .50 or rid free with an adult.
It was made of canvas stretched over tubing. Don't think it had doors or seat belts.Got in trouble again. Spent my .50 on a pocket knife.

Saved a little girl from drowning, she about 10 or 11.
Got in trouble again. Mon was mad that I didn't tell her about it.

At the Healy ranch some people came out to film his hounds on the trail. He drew a couple of lion tracks in the sand. called the dogs over & set them on the trail. They went across the road & up a hill side.Pretty well trained or Ham Actors. :laughing:

I was about 4 /5 & a P38 flew over. I didn't know it was a P38, just a funny looking airplane. Mom told me not to worry it was not armed.
Was not worried, just wanted to know what it was.

During the war dad was real busy. deputy sheriff, hunted lion, built a house in Brown canyon.

One night there was shooting, no one hurt. When he got there a guy pointed at another & said he shot at me. Dad ask how he knew he was being shot at.
His reply was "once wen the bullet passed me & next when I passed the bullet.
