68°F and no rain last 24 hours.

Upon closer inspection clutch isn't the problem with the weed trimmer, just not making enough rpms. Carb problem I guess as it speeds up if I hit the primer bulb. New spark plug. New gas. No apparent adjust on carb other than idle. This is an older Maruyama BST23.

Got some mowing in.

Don, glad you got that tree without incident, was surprised he took away stump support first, but on site gives the better perspective.

Do you know the relationship of the power to the dash and the relays. The first click of the key (starter switch) the dash comes on and the second click the tractor cranks. If at the first click the dash does not come on it will not crank and if the dash does come on, it cranks. Are relays involved in turning on the dash at first click?

On mine, no ... the instrument cluster receives power from the switch on it's own wire.

The starter relay is on it's own separate wire coming from the ignition switch.

I initially started cutting on the far end but after half a cut stopped too much tension (creaking, popping). That's when calling out a pro seemed to be the sensible way out. As it turns out about 5% of weight was on the stump, 20% on the BH and 75% on the far end.

You were covered under the falling object clause. Now they might want to depreciate that cylinder, but with a pretty new tractor, you are already eating your likely large deductible so they should just take the repair bill and pay it, less the deductible. Don you have the right to come back again if you find the first fix didn't work and there was more "hidden damage". Don't sign off on a full and final payment until you are sure it all works perfectly, nothing binds due to getting torqued around, etc. On something like this, one estimate from a reputable local repair shop should be fine.

Drew I took out Ins. with my cabin before we lived here. When I bought the tractor I added it to the home insurance. Back then I was concerned about theft. It was 12 years ago and apparently the BH it is still under something called "scheduled personal property" in my homeowners coverage c and "Deductable is listed as $0 applies to all insured perils."

So I should only expect a deduction for depreciation on the parts needed on the 12 year old BH? I wonder how much depreciaton is reasonable?
I read in the policy I have replacement cost on "unscheduled" property.

Wife was up last night several times with leg cramps, couldn't sleep ...

In addition to the advice given by others, if these are the sort of muscle cramps relieved by taking a hot bath before bedtime, two other things that may help without resorting to pills are -
a) Walking. A good walk can often give me the rest of the day without cramps.
b)Wear some clothing that very lightly compresses the calf muscles.

Good morning. The woodpecker was at it again this morning, although at 08:00am sharp his tapping was drowned out by the sound of construction site workers, driving piles for the ever expanding cold storage facility on the edge of town.

It is sad to see all those having to flee their homes in Alberta. The scenes of those poor people must be especially harrowing for those of you who have experienced forest fires at close hand.

49F and rain @ 03:00 ... high of 60 predicted for the day with - surprise - more rain ....

We had Chinese food a few days ago and The Woman really enjoyed it (she had gotten tired of it previously), so last night she picked up some more on the way home, apparently not having gotten her fill. Both times recently I've passed out almost immediately after having eaten it. Gotta remember to tell 'em to hold the MSG ...

Went up to shop yesterday morning to get some measurements and noticed that someone had "replenished" the mulch pile:

So I spent around an hour or two on the tractor moving around logs so they can be gotten to to buck into rounds and making some more room for them to dump. Spent some time with the box blade doing some smoothing of the area I'm trying to clear as well. Really need some temps in the 70's and about a week with no rain for it to start drying out. Doesn't look like that will be happening in the next 10 days.

After that I cut the two pieces of angle down to length. Surprised how quickly I was able to cut it using zip discs. Now I need to trim the angle drops into flats, to use to connect the two blade carriers together.

Need to check hour meter on Kubota today ... might be time for the oil change.

Don, great, you have first dollar coverage with no depreciation. Can't beat that, your premiums for all risk coverage on your tractor should cover the backhoe, since it was delivered with it on and hopefully the valuation covered the backhoe as well as the tractor. Even if not, there is usually no coinsurance on that coverage so they will pay you up to the limit insured for which you had to specify at some point. Probably a higher figure than the tractor is now worth so underinsurance not an issue.

Any of us who bought Kubotas under their 0% financing are very likely to have paid for all risk insurance coverage built into the financing plan.

another inch of rain due in this afternoon, with a front coming through the central atlantic area.
I have another dozen plus shrubs to plant, and looks like that will be this weekend since the tractor has to go on the lawn and likely to be too wet for awhile. Shall see, the rain recently has been sucked up pretty well.

50 and drizzle going to 60 and rain. 9th straight day with rain. Creek washing over my bridge, but boy is everything green.

Took a nice Coco hike between rains down to the river at the battlefield park - river very high and fast flowing. The quarry next door to the battlefield set off a big blast underground and we both jumped as it shook the ground like the big earthquake we had several years ago.

Good morning all. 53 here this morning going to 55. Calling for 100% chance of rain and 1/2" to 3/4" possible. Went and got a load of stuff for the new house yesterday and was cutting it close on time. Went to pull out and got stuck. Not a bad stuck just could not get out. Had to wait for brother in law to go to his house to get his straps and pull me out. One of the "boys" that helped me was about 1/2 hr late for work and he milks cows. He tried to call his boss and got no answer. I feel bad about it but ......... Think I'll kinda take it easy today. Worked harder yesterday than I have in a while and the recliner feels pretty good this morning.

Don The family member we take care of loves to watch Andy Griffith so we have them all on tape. On one show Howard is talking about how he is going to take it easy when he retires and then realizes how boring it would be just sitting around and puttering ...... I keep thinking about that show. Sitting by the pool and drinking tea sounds good every now and then but That can't be your main activity. I'll have to figure out something, never had a house in the city before, don't know what to expect.
