Drunks and druggies makes the Music biz go. We have both kinds Country and Western.
Yeah, definitely. I'm certainly not picking on any "type" of musician. I'm just saying when the news media reports on these deaths they should start with the cause and go into morbid detail about how the deceased got to that point. Then we can talk about their "greatness" all we want. But the embedded memory should be their fall from grace with drugs/alcohol.
The cause of death has not been released yet ,has it?
Thru social media it's been discussed. News media made a big deal about him having a flu like illness that required an emergency landing of his plane a few days ago. Actually he OD'd on Percoset (sp?). They landed and gave him a shot to get him going again and he checked himself out and went on his way. Got hooked on pain killers a few years ago from an injury. Went downhill from there. Sad. Very sad. Extremely talented. But let's remember him for his lack of self control, not for his ability to play instruments. The list of junkie musicians is huge. Again, I think that contributes to today's society accepting drug abuse........
I do not follow Social Media. We will know soon though.
Sadly, we'll never know on network media. They'll cover it up and when that doesn't work, quit talking about it. I.E., Michael, Whitney.
I once had a article written about me 15 years ago. The only thing they got right was my name. No, it was nothing bad but a feel good story that was all BS. I take all the news with lots and lots of salt now.
I hear ya my friend. Sadly it's all about Bling now, very little to do with honest accuracy.
I always knew there was a story behind you..............
I think many 'great' performers push so hard and are pushed by others via contracts and fan expectations that they develop anxieties and turn to drugs to sleep, get up, by creative, whatever. It is truly sad to see unique talents perish too soon, and it sure seems there are too many of those in the entertainment industry.
Yep. Everyone has their favorites. Stevie Ray Vaughn was one of mine. He never hurt no one. Just got consumed.......
Agreed.
Prince was a one off but man he could sing, and for a guy who didn't get serious with a guitar till 05, he became a master. Check out this rendition of "while my guitar genly weeps" purpsedly played off chord. https://www.google.ca/url?sa=t&rct=...U7jPitK-5PfpBFHUaxO6cw&bvm=bv.119745492,d.bGs
