I've also sent this to Fimco for help but I thought I would ask here too.

I have a 30 gallon pull behind sprayer I purchased at TSC. It has one of the 12v Gold Series pumps on it.

The issue I'm having is the pump seems to be losing pressure after a few minutes of spraying.

It starts out great with good pressure but after a few minutes it goes down to a trickle. I can shut off the pump and turn it back on and get good pressure for a little longer, but soon again (a minute or so) it goes down to a trickle.

I am using Amine (24d) mixed per instructions.

Here's what's odd. When I'm done I flush the system with clean water (1/2 tank) then I fill the tank 1/2 full again and add nutra-sol and pump that through. Then after that one more 1/2 tank of clean water.

I do not clean the strainer before flushing either, just to make sure that's not the problem.

What's odd is each of these steps takes 10 minutes or more, and the pump never loses pressure.

The only thing I can think of is when I'm spraying 24d:

1. I'm moving (ie, pulling the sprayer)
2. I'm using 24d.

So could it be the movement causing the pump to lose pressure or the 24d itself doing something to the unit causing it to lose pressure? I always test it out with plain water before spraying and it seems to spray just fine. Even when I'm pulling it around. It just seems like the 24d is doing something to the diaphram/rubber seals making it lose pressure.

Not an expert by any means, but the thought occurred to me that when spraying 2,4d is the tank sealed and not vented, thereby forming a vacuum preventing the pump suction to draw more liquid? But when cleaning the top is off tank and vented?

My lid on mine did quit venting...I have to loosen it, but it will start to pull the sides of the tank in. Regarding the pump, my does the same thing. I would recommend mixing the chemical in water in a 5 gallon bucket. If you pour it in the tank, even through the water in the tank, and it goes to the bottom, the pump will not be consistent picking up the chemical like it will water.

I decided to rehose everything on the pump. Then I used only water that goes through our softener and iron curtain (very high iron, manganese, etc). I got a full spray in our 3 acre yard and the neighbors 1 acre without it acting up.

So, could be junk in the water... the smaller particles get through the little filter but still mess with the pump.
