I placed a deposit on a Ruger AR556 this evening. If there's time enough I'll get my tax refund transferred to my checking account and get it this weekend.

Soooo, that means you'll get one more opinion on an AR. There was a big selection of AR's there and an even bigger price range, WOW!

I have 22/45 SS 4", P97D .45 ACP, .44 Mag & 9mm/.357 convert SBH's, and M77 MKII .308. 10/22 has shared trigger time with 77/22H for 'yard work' anymore.

None of these Rugers have ever been ammo-fussy, all are easy to clean, and all shoot better that I do when in younger, less shaky hands. I've seen the SR-556 and like the fit & finish, but did not shoot. Just found out a friend has Ruger AR-556 and invited him back out with it for 'show & shoot'. Might have something to add if he's here soon enough.

I know its an AR-15 thread but heres my Ruger Vaquero birds head in 45 ACP , 3 3/4 " brl .
Shown in a Ruger holster from Sportsman Guide . The other holster is a DeSantis .
