Tiller Tines Replacement

Tines wear fast on tillers. You won't believe how much better they till with a new set. I'd replace them after going to that trouble to do what you've done on the rest of the machine. When I bought mine, I bought an extra set of tines/bolts at the same time.

Just for reference, attached is before/after photos of the tiller

From the "before" photo, It looks like there is still overlap of the tines so they aren't worn enough to leave untilled area. I would run them some more and keep watch on the overlap of the tines. If the tips wear too short to meet the opposite tine, then it may be time to replace. But as Sawyer Rob says, they may start breaking prior to them reaching that point.
The bevel may be opposite to the factory due to wear, but I would bet it still does a fine job of tilling up the soil especially since most folks make more than one pass, any less than perfect tillage would be overlapped.

I personally prefer the L shaped tines to the curved half moon style. I think they wear longer than the half moon style.

I've run both in hundreds of acres of ground, the curved always last longer in my tillers...

Well almost a year later i decided to replace the tines and I'm glad I did. I replaced all the bolts as well and just in time for gardening season. It tills and covers 10x better.
