We should let Mexico keep the name. After all we did take almost half of their country.

Took all the way to California after the US Army battled down to Mexico city. We may have paid them a stipend, even though we had just kicked their rears. (This after many raids by Mexicans after Texans had defeated Santa Anna.)

Mexico took it from the Spaniards after the Spaniards had taken it from the Indians.

None of the unloader valves look right. Here is a picture of the switch. it is unscrewed from the black part so you can see the spring that is around the little plunger.

When I turn let go of the trigger on the gun the pressure in the valve goes up pushes the plunger in (toward the white box) which turns the electric off of the pressure washer. The opposite when the trigger on the gun is depressed.

Don, have you taken it apart to see if everything is moving freely?

I'd buy the new gun. They aren't real expensive.

It's not the gun. I push the little plunger in and it works fine, but as soon as the pressure is increased when I turn the gun off, the plunger goes in and does not come out, and there is no power to the unit.

A lot of the switches I'm finding are connected to the burner, but I have no burner.

Yes, and that is the problem, it is not moving freely, it needs to be replaced.

It was 70˚ outside today so cold temp is not the problem either. I just can't find a replacement part.

Don,

Post the make and model number of your pressure washer. I would be happy to do some sleuthing on your behalf. I really enjoy the challenge. :)

Any engineers or cooling experts out there? I need some engineering help.

I need to figure out how much of a glycol circulating cooling system I need to freeze a block of aluminum 2" x 12" x 12" to 14F by circulating the glycol in cooling channels in the block. Outside temp should not exceed 80F. Should I use Fourier's Law?

I can insulate the bottom and the sides with styrofoam. My initial calculations came up to around 154,000 btu/hr. Can that be right?

This is for a small project I have at work that I would like to implement in the shop. It would be great if I could sabotage an old freezer compressor, add a heat exchanger and a glycol tank and pump.

That automatic switch is sticking bad, the machine cuts off and will not come back on until I unscrew the switch and pull the plunger out. I want to get a new one but I can't seem to find it using the phrase "automatic pressure on/off switch". I think I'm using the wrong words and the manual is no help.

Try disassembling the old one and soaking it overnight in vinegar. If it's hard water deposits that are making it stick, the vinegar will eat them up.

Google the make and model number of the pressure washer along with "parts diagram" or some such and maybe you'll get an exploded view that shows the part you need.

14 degrees right now, high of 35 today!
Took my wife out for dinner yesterday. We went to a local taproom (she and my step-daughter picked the place). Food was pretty good and they had a heck of a selection of beers!
Busy week at work this week...heading to Connecticut Tuesday, back on Wednesday, then down to Connecticut again Thursday and Friday.

25 going up to 53 today, nice sunny day.
Hopefully the ground will start to dry out after more than two inches of rain. But at least things don't have to melt...
