Nice setup! I actually copied your setup on my bucket for my Kubota except I welded only 3 hooks since it was a smaller bucket. I welded the support bracket though like you did. It's a stout looking bucket on a little L tractor, but boy have I used them hooks and am glad I welded them like I did!

That looks like a really stout setup. I have seen another setup where the person alternated hooks and loops for a total of 3 hooks and 2 flip loops. I can see the advantages to reinforcing your bucket.

Is there a kit out there where you can add the teeth to the cutting edge of the bucket but then easily remove them for when your doing things like scraping paddocks?

This is how I beefed up the upper lip. I had slightly bowed it by trying to wiggle loose a very large post by prying on it.

How do you bend the top edge of the bucket. I have seen that on some tractors but I have never done it and cannot imagine doing what I would do to bend the top edge. I did loan my tractor out one time and it came back with the cutting edge bowed that I had to straighten but the top edge????

I bent my top edge with logs while working a burn pile. It happens. How did you straighten out your cutting edge? I bent mine on a tree I had dug up with the BH. It didn't move the way I wanted it to move.

Wrap a chain around the edge of the scoop - mine has the cutting edge bent up on the sides about 3 " providing little flats to hook the chain on. Put a hydraulic jack between the chain below the scoop (assuming the cutting edge is bent down) and the scoop at the point of the bend. You can move the jack as needed until you get it as straight as you want it. I may have put a small wood block on top of the jack to spread the load a little and not have localized deflection but I don't remember for sure. I know I was thinking about it if I started seeing bending I didn't like but I do not remember doing it. Just watch and you will see how it is bending and if it is bending back like you like.

That looks like a bulldozer scoop! Of course it is on a little bigger tractor than a CUT. I would have to gain some weight to keep the backend of my tractor on the ground with that hanging on the front!

Still growing up on the farm we had a loader on a JD 4230 (100 hp) and a Versatile 256 (bi-directional 100 hp) and we never bent bent the top. My brother was not kind to those tractors either. Lots of rock digging - had to straighten the cutting edge a few times!

On our 580 Case, we have 5 hooks on the bucket as well, but with no reinforcement, a few bends, but nothing horrible. Obviously it makes a difference as to what and how the machine is used.

The Max 25 HST we started with in 2012. Just sold it with 157 hours on it - perfect for 2.5 acres...

And a few of the new 2538. Love this beast! Great Mid Size CUT that I can still haul with a half ton pickup.

And to think I was bitching about an inop temp gauge, a piss poor backhoe install and crummy documentation. All but the documentation have been resolved. I guess all things are relevant. You poor guy. At least I guess you could do the 50 hour service pretty easy with your tractor in it's current state but with only 17 hours on the clock, that's not in the cards either.

I'm having a hard time believing they really took it that far apart. But they did. I actually got a little weak in the knees when I came around the corner and the service mgr said "There it is". I said "There what is?" "Your tractor" he replied. Everything after that is a little fuzzy.
