Autocorrect is my worst emema !

Anybody else have a disaster due to auto correct. Sent a text to my wife last week about a group of older ladies in her Homemakers Club. In response to her text question I meant to say they were interacting without getting loud, there had been some conflict between members. The text autocorrected to say "they are intercourse without being loud".

Needless to say my wife thought it was funny. Especially since the average age is about 75.

You can bypass auto-correct in the settings on the phone.

I am surprised autocorrect didn't catch the misspelled title.

I hate doing this on my phone. My main typing thumb is swollen from being smashed and it takes forever. That's my excuse anyway.

The misspelled title was the perfect way to introduce the subject. :thumbsup:

I've never had, and therefore used, auto-correct on any of my mobile phones. It would drive me bonkers if I did... especially when you include Aussie slang.

My parents bought them a tablet through verizon when they got their cell phones a year ago.

My parents didn't like it anymore and decided to give it to me.

I hate typing on that thing.

I'm a fast typer on the laptop or desktop keyboard but on the tablet it takes me at least 10 minutes to get a few sentences typed out on the tablet.

I have to fix auto corrected words and sometimes I hit the wrong letters and have to backspace over and over.

The tablets nice. But I prefer my laptop.

Same here. Took typing in HS and have used it ever since. I can cruise all day at 60wpm or 'burst up to 80-90. But the only time I tried it, I could not type on a laptop even, keys too close together. I can't even picture doing it on a tablet much less a phone.

My wife use Speech to text on her phone and it works pretty well for her. If it screws up and it is funny she send that to let the recipient figure out what she meant to say.
I tried that too. No go. I learned English very late in life and I speak "funny" as my kids would say. One time during one of the desperate attempts I just told the phone you are stupid. Surprisingly it understood it perfectly and and answered "You got that right". So now if I in boisterous mood I put my phone on speaker and tell it you are stupid and it yells back You got that right. It makes people laugh.
