They should ask for permission, and if asked for permission how many of you guy wouldn't let them fly over your property? I know most of you would not let someone ride an ATV on their property because of property damage and liability, but within reason do these drown guys hurt anything?

If my neighbor was to get a drone and asked then yes I would say ok as long as I know when it is. I do not want one hovering overhead when I am entertaining guest in the backyard.

I would let someone who asked fly as long as they followed four rules:
1. Away from the house/yard where the kids play
2. At least 150' up when over the pastures where the animals are and no following/chasing the animals even from that height
3. Far enough away from any people who are on the rest of the property that if the battery died unexpectedly it wouldn't land on their head
4. No flying after dark
IMO, those are common sense rules that should be followed by all drone operators.

As for my earlier reading the load rating on the tires, I was being facetious, but its a lot more intrusive to have a drone hovering at 50-75' AGL than a chopper or plane at 500' AGL.

I believe this is the crux of the problem. Common Sense is no longer that common... :sigh:

That's something I think we can all agree on!

Thumbs up for sure. I hope gets many more decals.

Seriously, I would expect that a modern jet engine would digest a drone without an issue. Not that I would want to be in one when it does during takeoff or landing. Drones are probably geo fenced out of airports, but stuff happens.

Jet engines have trouble with birds. I'd think the metal parts on a drone would be at least as bad but most likely worse. Also, another concern is windscreen breakage and taking out the pilot.

Yea, I think a " drone " would be pretty rough on a plane. They aren't "drones" that is the same as calling an AR15 an "assault rifle".

If someone's assaulting you with any rifle, its an assault rife. ;)
