I used a 2 7/8" pipe with slot cut in it. Works fairy well. Have used 2 season, looks like it will last for awhile too.

I may use the fel to clear my blacktop driveway...any good way to cover the steel edge of the fel so it doesn't scrape up my blacktop

CVCman: try this: http://johnnyproducts.com/images/JBJr%20shoe/jbjrshoe%20004.jpg

Johnny Scheele makes great products. This snow shoe happens to be a 50" model which should fit your bucket.

Email him first before ordering.

I have a JP bucket jr that I've had for years now. No complaints at all. Good quality construction.

Metal pipe or PVC? If metal, how did you cut the slot? Using a grinder would take a while to cut a 6' slot!

No snow here but, I think if you go with PVC pipe you could just clamp it between a couple of 2x4's and cut a slot with a circular saw. 2x4's would keep pipe from rolling.

Metal. Don't think PVC would last. I've read that some have opened up the pipe with the slot using a torch. In my case a friend who had one of those two bladed circular saws cut the slot in it for me.

I had two holes in the bottom of the bucket that the previous owner had drilled. Welded metal tabs, bolted on, works decent.

I must say that the edge tamer impresses me.
Real smart idea, hope he has a patent.
I welded similar idea for plowing my drive as well as made oversize skids for my blower.
All my gravel problems solved. (and no more sheering of blower pins)
