Some install check chains to maintain a specific height.

Keep an eye on the "knuckle link" at the toplink to bushog connection. As your liftarms slowly leak down the aspect will change. Adjust as needed.

I don't have a problem arms leaking down. I adjust height as I go along at the beginning and once I find the right height, I leave it alone. I use a chain in place of the top link on the 3pt when brush hogging. I also have a 4ft and wished I went with a 4ft.

A chain in place of the top link ?? I though the side arms determined the height not the top link ?? And ive heard that with a chain if you hit something the cutter could come up and crush you ???

And what do you mean " I have a 4ft and wish I went with a 4ft ????

Can't say I've ever heard the crush story. Not worried about that in the least. I don't see how that's even possible.

Chain for the top link gives the brush hog some room to "ride" the hills and bumps. Lets the tail have a little room to move up and down. The more slack, the more it can move. It's been used by farmers for many many years.

Wished I bought a 5ft because its wider and the tractor could still power it.
