Got a 75B backhoe on Mahindra 2555. The remote hookup has two female connections with two male connections on hoses coming from bh. One hose from bh has a filter and the other is a check valve. The lever to activate the remote has a retract position and an extend position. Does this mean that in retract position that oil flows in one direction and in extend the oil flows in the opposite direction through the remote? The bh came from dealer with hose with filter attached to right side remote connection and the lever set to extend to operate the bh. Would it be safe to assume that switching the hoses and putting the lever in retract position would work as well?

If you switch the hoses from the way the dealer had them then the hoe won't operate correctly. Why would you switch them anyways? Or I could be misunderstanding you

I re read your post, I think I understand now. I assume it would work like you're talking about doing. But why would you want to? Just curious.

Have several people that will be operating the tractor and I was just wondering if it was hooked up differently if that would be an issue?

Ahhh I see. You could get some colored electrical tape and color code the hoses to the proper quick connect. Takes the guess work out of hooking up hoses

Get some plastic wire ties in a couple colors. They'll hold up better than tape.

Didn't even think about colored wire ties. That's much better than tape that would turn to crap when the hydraulic fluid got on it from disconnecting couplers

Tape would deteriorate pretty quick and come off when the hydraulic fluid gets on it vs ties that won't deteriorate.

I read it as "Don't even think about colored wire ties."

My old eyes ain't as good as they once was.

Cut those wire ties 1/4 inch long....Then hit that tywrap with a lighter(very quickly) were you cut it off....They will cut you like a knife if you don't take the sharp edge off....

Do you know if the threads on the back of the couplers are the same on the male and female? If so, why not just swap a male for a female. No way to mix them up then. B.
