Quick search of all the big brands:
Gives me 3 good choices...
Rhino Turbo 96, 3ph, up to 2 1/2" capacity, 2,000 lbs
Kodiak HD8, 3ph, up to 3", 1250 lbs (seems light)
Bush Hog 3008, 3ph, 2" capacity, 1757 lbs

With difference in weight and capabilities, Rhino Turbo may be the way to go?

Opinions on this 8' lift super duty Rhino? Seems to be well built and offer great cutting capacity for a multi spindle lift style cutter.

i have the 8' rhino turbo model, purchased several yrs back. not sure if that model is still avail. double walled top deck. @ 2000 lbs heavy duty in every respect. bush hog has something similar. probably land pride though not for sure.... considering your investment, go heavy duty whatever you get. believe the 7060 could handle it, but if you are on slopes, may consider suitcase ft weights. loaded rears of course. some have even loaded the ft tires, although kubota does not recommend (subject for another debate) just remember to gear down in heavy growth in whatever you choose!....we're now talking substantial investment & weight for transportation. know it must be a tough decision....wise to sleep on it
btw think you are wise in considering twin spindle in whatever you decide on....also agree w/tripleR 3pt hitch lift is the way to go over drag model.
and yes, kodiak seems very light boasting 3" diameter cut.

The weight totals is the main thing that keeps coming up... I think that knocks the mahindra out of the running... Too heavy if that's possible.
Kubota 7060 may be the winner...
8 speed or 12?
Going to start shopping hard for the 7060 around me...
Thanks again!

by all means, imho go with the hd 12 sp op on the 7060. not only will it give you more variation on ground speed, but also 3ph lift capacity. with that investment, you'll thank yourself in the long run. glad i did it for my 8540. & of course, hyd shuttle is a no brainer. best regards.
also if you go w/rhino turbo, use 85/140 wt gear oil per their recommendation

Yep, no question go for a 12/12.

12x12 Hyd shuttle for sure. I been running the 8x8 sync for several years and I should have listened to Triple R on the last 7040 I got and got the Hyd shuttle, especially for me working in the hay field,I know it would make moving/loading hay a lot better.I have the 12x12 on my NH and just so much better gear selection to find that right one,for what your doing. If resale later those two options will help it also.

I prefer a 6x2, rather than a 4x3 too.

The 7060 (or 6060 for that matter) would be more than capable of handling an 8' twin spindle. Our family uses a M5140 to pull an LP RCR2596. It does fine even in heavy cutting. We also have a Woods DS96 8' cutter and prefer it over the LP.

As for the weights which I confused regarding tractors alone...Kubota 5100...Mahindra 7100 lbs
What are you calling "tractor alone"? No FEL, No loaded tires, no fuel, no wheel weights?

What are you towing it on and how often?

As big bubba wrote:
think you should consider hiring out initial work, then look at your own future mowing/transport options. trying to get it all in 1 may be too big a task esp w/3" growth. may be cheaper & less labor intensive in long run....let us know how it goes

I may have missed it but once you get that 30 acres knocked down what else are you doing with the tractor? And why keep 30 acres in brush hogged condition? Are you going to be haying? That might need 70 hp.

A slightly smaller tractor in the 50-60HP range would cost less, weigh less, and may do everything you need for whatever you are going to do. And you could have $$$ left over for more implements.
