After all the lurking around here and research online, I bought me a XR4046H:cool2: The higher price of the new engine kinda pushed me toward buying now. I've not had a lot of seat time yet. I'm coming from a Ford 601 and a New Holland TC33D so this is a pretty big step up. So far I love the power. I do have one early question: How does the FWD system work on these tractors? My TC33D had a lever to engage it. I'm assuming this one is full time FWD. Nothing in the owners manual or what I've seen online talks about it. I'll report back later with my synopsis once I get more seat time.

While I cannot tell you where the lever or switch is to put your tractor in 4wd, I have never seen a CUT that was full time 4WD. I am certain your tractor has a method to put in in 2WD. On my Kioti it is an rocker switch on the dash.

Lever should be down by your left foot

There is a lever on the left side next to your diff lock. Pull up for 4 WD down for 2WD.

And to put in turf mode or unlock rear diff there is another lever "black" by your right foot

I found it right after I posted. One thing I don't like is no 4wd indicator light. No way of being sure it's in. Definitely a safety issue.

There's tons of tractors with no 4wd indicator light. I'd hazard a guess that pretty much any machine that uses a lever for engagement will not have a light. If the 4wd is controlled by a switch then there will be a light of some sort.

I see no reason why or how it would be a safety issue not having a light on a lever activated machine.
A: look at the position of the lever
B: tell by the feel of the steering
C: tell by the sound of the machine

Even at that, so what it your tractor is in 2 or 4wd? How is that a hazard to you?
