Good morning, 68F heading to 81F with rain on the way. Prepping the back deck for staining but looks like temperature are dropping into the 50s after today so it looks like no staining until next weekend.

Need to get some basic plans drawn and start a thread on that. Until I get all my equipment under cover I really am never going to relax here. Besides you pull the tarps off and who knows what will come crawling out.
Very simple building, no money left for a guy's pleasure pad. Will be nice to have a place to store my boat inside for the winter, so sometime before late Fall I want to have this under cover. More later elsewhere."

I'm very interested in your new shop building, and hope you'll share a link to the thread here.

Yesterday I had help from the little lizards that call this place home. They'd moved in under the tarp I used to cover the hydraulics, and didn't want to leave. I didn't want any of them to get hurt, and it took several sweeps to get them all re-situated. The FEL bucket seemed to be the place of choice, an apparently contested one. As I stepped out of the garage onto the driveway, I caught two of them, jaws locked onto each other and tumbling/twisting in a fight that only lasted a few seconds. That was followed with lots of strutting, bobbing up and down, and chasing, all good fun I hope in a lizard's life. Now I know one way they lose their tails!

Thanks guys for the congrats..I have a lot of little things I would like to get done but I need to get a garage built first and it seems out of the 6 calls I have made to contractors only 2 have returned them and 1 so far has given me a bid. They are all about 2 months out it seems. Guess they don't need the work if I had the cement work done I would build the rest myself I'm not a cement man by any means..:D

53 and cloudy heading to 61 today. Special Weather Statement for this afternoon and tonight Thunder storms and heavy rain predicted at the coast.

Good Morning. 0825, partly cloudy, 77F with 88% humidity. Forecast high of 86F with 80% chance of a thunderstorm this afternoon, and a low of 71F tonight. My 10 day forecast calls for 1 day of partly cloudy and 9 days of chance of thunderstorms.

I'm going to let Cousin Dee pick my green beans and squash, so all that is left for me to do in the garden is hoe. I guess I could cut the backyard grass. But Mocha is a tall dog. I can still see her head and tail above the grass.

Drew, be careful covering equipment with tarps. In really high humidity {like you and I have} they can cause more rust than leaving them uncovered.

Hope everyone has a good day,

Larro

Don, our internet has been out for a few days. Live air is what we have.
I side with the others about that rattlesnake. Hogs will kill snakes but not sure about one that big. I remember reading sadly about both those men that died after getting bit. Have seen numerous dead turtles on the roads due to the flooding. Many snapping turtles too.
My culvert is plugged with hay. Staying home to unplug it today. Already had a big storm this morning. It has moved NE here.

I had the same experience last year when I went looking for a surveyor, and before that when I searched for a concrete contractor. I figured that the ones that don't call back are doing me a favor by weeding themselves out before they become a PITA on the job. And that business must be very good if they can't even find time to return a phone call.

Speaking of which, have you considered hiring a concrete man and doing the rest yourself? I bet there are plans available to get you through the permit process (if there is one), probably just a google search away...

I actually have the paperwork for the permit and I may go after that option real soon I basically just wanted a framed in building and I would do the electrical and hang the garage door myself....We shall see here in the next week or so how it all plays out.

Here's where I'm at so far.

First, just the arms pinned back on. Using a porta-power to lift the arms so I could move the FEL back onto the driveway.

Hydraulics back on, but lines under the right arm not secured. There's a routing problem in there that still needs sorting out.

Wish now I'd taken time to paint the cylinders, too, but that would only lead to me wanting to paint the whole tractor. So that's gonna have to do for now...
