Within the last month, I took delivery of my new tractor and since the grass is about to start growing, I decided to play around with the mower deck (install / removal) this past weekend. In doing so, I noticed a concern that my dealer is working to address, relative to the right mower linkage at the 3-point hitch area interfering with the backhoe sub-frame. I can稚 raise the 3-point hitch full up, without the right mower linkage interfering and putting what seems to be a sizable load on the system (you can hear the engine / hydraulic system load up and when you look at the bracket it is visually deflected).

I知 hoping that someone with a B50 series tractor and mower deck can answer the following questions:

Does the right bracket in the photos look correct?...Should it have a similar bend / shape as the left bracket?

Should I be able to operate the 3-point hitch full up and down with the mower deck arms both in the stowed position (i.e. not in use) and when connected to the mower deck (i.e. in use)?

Thanks in advance!!!

Almost looks like the right-side bracket is not correct for the tractor (or at least for one with a backhoe). The left bracket looks correct to me.

The right pin that holds the lower linkage . It looks like its twisted. The lower arm ball is touching on op and about a 1/4 away a he bottom.

They should be symmetrical right to left and the right looks like it is the wrong arm.

Looks like brackets were switched to wrong sides. Left should be on right and right one on left side? Just a WAG, but something sure not right. Hope you get it worked out. HJT

Thank you all for your input!!!!

My personal opinion is that I agree with S219 & sandyc and the Right bracket should have the same bend / contour as the Left bracket. The hole in the bracket is also larger than the 3-pt hitch pin and allows the bracket to cock on the pin. At any rate, between the bend/contour and what I just mentioned about the hole, I really feel it's not the correct bracket.

Sandyc,

By any chance, do you have the mower kit for your B3350? If you do, could you take a picture so I can drop it on my dealer's desk and tell them what they should already know? I would assume your 3350 bracket would be the same as my 2650 brackets...

Sorry I don't have a mower kit. I opted for a T1880 gas lawn tractor instead.

I received a message from my dealer today that the right bracket is not the correct bracket for my tractor. They have the correct one on order and will come to my tractor to install (not that I couldn't do it myself, I'm happy the dealer is fixing the issue they transferred to me).

As soon as I have the new bracket installed, I'll take a photo and add it to this thread.....might help someone else in the future.

Hi 2fast916,

I received your PM while I was at work today and I just got home. I was able to snap a couple of pictures of my B2650 with the 72 inch mmm. My brackets look similar to your brackets. They appear to be offset to line up with the lifting points on the mower as far as I can tell. It does look a little strange but has not caused a problem for me since I don't have the sub-frame mounting for the backhoe to worry about. The only issue I have, is when I put the 72 inch grader scraper on the back to do some road work. I don't want to have to take the mmm off. I have to raise the mower to the highest position to insert the pins that hold the mower up, but still allow me to raise and lower the grader scraper on the 3-pt. One side of the mower hangs down a bit and the holes don't line up. Not a huge issue, I just use a 2x4 to lever the mower deck up a bit until I can insert the pin. Glad your dealer contacted you with the good news that a different bracket should fix your problem. I will try to attach the pics for your enjoyment anyway!

Jeff

Thank you very much, Jeff! I'm assuming when the backhoe sub-frame goes on, you need a different bracket. Will be interesting to see because I don't know why there wouldn't be one setup that works with all configurations.

I have a couple questions about your midmount mower deck. I am going to purchase the same . Front end loader midmount mower with a backhoe. Do you have any regrets. I know that you remove the mower deck before you hook up the backhoe. What do you do with all the linkages. Disconnect them ? Is the upper arm that carrys the linkage then pinned up so it wont fall down and get hung up on the ground? How long does this take ? To install do you drive over the deck then hook up everything. How long does this take.

fraserfir- When I got my 2920 TLB I looked at getting a mower at the same time. As I looked and read about the mmm I realized that I would have to drop the hoe and put on the three point hitch arms in order to use the mower. The hoe subframe is not the problem, it is installing the tph arms that is a bit of a pain as you have to loosen a bolt, remove two pins, and then slide a rod back and forth to install the arms. The back tires are in the way. The mower linkage for raising and lowering is driven off the right tph arm. The tph lower arms have to be removed for using the hoe.
Also, the hoe is pretty easy to install and detach most of the time but there were some occasions where it took me half an hour of fiddling with the stabs, bucket and or positioning my storage dolly. I opted to go to a small lawn tractor to cut my lawn and am glad I did. I now have a 3350 which is kind of like my old 2920 and I wouldn't want to use it on my yard as I have quite a few uneven spots and hills that would be a butt clencher if I was using my 3350. Everyone's situation is different but I would not recommend using the 2650 for mowing even if the cab has A/C.

Hi!

So far, I love the MMM on my B2650! The mower / tractor combination actuall cuts better than my previous tractor - BX25. I impart this due to two difference...one being larger tires so, it simply rolls over bumps, etc much easier and two being that the deck is a floating deck vs. suspended. To date, I have not scalped or gouged my lawn with the floating deck. I can explain more here if needed....just ask.

As far as the connections go, again the B2650 is easier to mount / dismount than my BX25. You do need to have the 3pt hitch arms installed and can't use the backhoe as a result but, for me, I only use the backhoe a small percentage of time....so this wasn't an issue. As far as removing the MMM to use the backhoe, all you need to do is drop the deck......pin the link arms that are under the tractor.....and remove the two 3pt hitch arms. Probablly takes me 15-minutes maximim, now that I have some practice doing it...

To install, you don't drive over the deck....you are supposed to do it from the side by turning the front wheels max in one direction. I actually modified that process and use my loader to lift up the front tires and it gives tons of access to slide the deck in from the side.

Hope that helps....please feel free to ask any additional questions.

Any pics of the new brackets your dealer was working on? I think I am having the same problem, new b2650 with hoe and 60" mmm

Right now I don t have the mower hooked up as I am using the backhoe. But the dealer did not make up any new brackets. The mower linkage is hooked up to two brackets that are moved by your 3 point lift arms. I havent had any problems with interference fit . There is a pin that has a locking bolt that the lift arms are attached to. I would make sure that the sliding pin for the lift arms are is centered with the locking bolt in the detent of the pin otherwise it could make the lift arms offset creating a problem.
