I too received the same flyer. Trade in a non-deere tractor from 2003-2012 and get $6500 off retail on a new 5m.

What I would like to find out is how did John Deere get my name and address and that I owned this class of Utility tractor. Things that make you go hmmmm.....

I got one too back around Nov-Dec, but on a 1-series deere. And, there was a similar thread here on this subject back then too. Guess JD renewed the trade in program.

I've got mine, worried my tractor might not like the gloves if I get them. Is your tractor registered?

I got a $17,000 Deere offer, I addition to trade in value, to trade my M135GX, on a JD 6R model. The offer was less, like $12,000, if I traded for a 6M. After a month they added to rhe mailings to offer a 3/4 inch drive set - sockets, ratchet, breaker bar - just to have them give me a quote.

the reason they are trying to trade for kubotas is because they are neck and neck with kubotas on sales.plus i bet their tractor buyer has an order for some used kubota tractors.

No my tractor isn't registered. I guess my point is SOMEBODY is giving Deere our names and addresses and tractor information because the offers are for different tractors based on what you currently own. My offer doesn't say Kubota it just says "special" trade in offer. (I own an LS)

It might be interesting to learn how they are getting this info. The only common denominator we have is probably financing, could that be how they are doing it?

I received the offer on Monday and also wondered how they knew I had a 50-100 hp Kubota to trade in. It is financed and insured through Kubota so... ??

If you bought parts etc online or even used a credit card at a 3rd party equipment supply house they know what you're buying the parts for...

It usually in the fine print of credit card agreements and in the TOS of web vendors that they retain the right to share purchase data...

If your machine was financed it was probably warranty registered too. And there was probably a ucc1 filed by the finance company. That's all public information. Takes a little bit of digging, but it's there. Go to your states website, I think under Secretary of State you can do a ucc1 search by name. Year, make, model, pay off date. All there.

There are companies out there that compile that information and sell it to manufacturers, dealers, ad agencies etc. you want to send a flier to everyone in a list of zip codes or counties that have more than 5 acres with over 100k income. You could probably have a mailing list in less than an hour.

I seriously doubt that my LS dealer or his merchant account provider is selling my information to Deere. It's the only place I have purchased anything for my tractor.and my tractor information isn't sent to them, just an amount. More importantly not everyone receiving these mailings have purchased items from the same place.

Hecko Pete an information harvesting bot can get a lot of your information from this forum! Nothing is really private anymore and when your member information is right here with what tractor that you have.

A little work on TBN membership and stated tractor models would give a list...then need to find mailing addresses...although source could be otherwise, as mentioned in prior posts.

Yep got the same flyer 2 days ago. The 5M was an awesome tractor but it was like $15-20k more than my kubota M8540. It was definitely a lot more tractor in many ways but I couldn't justify the cost if I was making a living with it i would considered it.
5E series at the time did not offer a power shuttle trans on the open station. I think it was a year after i bought the m8540 they finally got with the program.

I received one of these fliers once before. I took advantage of the 0% for 5 years when I bought it. The tractor is registered for the road. Big brother knows all.

Personally I think Kubota is scaring the heck out of JD. Just watch some of the YouTube videos where they bash everything about Kubota. One even goes so far to say Kubota's are designed to fail.

BTW: My son test drove a JD 4066M and a 4044R before deciding on the MX5100. Originally he was looking at trading the L3940 for an L5460 or L6060 but decided to stay away from a DPF tractor and found some MX5100's still out there and this allowed him to keep the L3940 and purchase an MX5100 so they would have 2 loader tractors. Also the new JD 4000series is the loudest tractor in its class that he looked at.

There's a JD5065M here and it's a great tractor but the main reason they decided to go with it over a Kubota M7040 was that the 5065M was the last year model they made them and for $32K cash price with everything they wanted, except 4WD, it was too good a deal to turn down.
