iPads have their place! For me it's a great tool for the road as I'm on business always trying to travel light! Now there is an outlook for iPad app and that is working out great so far!

I am glad you contacted him Kenny, I hope he looks into the BestBuy floater you posted. On my iPad it started a few weeks ago. This is about the third time around with this particular ad in the past year or so.

It only appears on my tablet when you go to an individual thread. As the thread is loading it is in normal page size, then the whole page jumps down to a very small size for a split second and when it comes back, I know that is the signal, and the BestBuy ad will be floating all over. Very annoying.

There was also a Scion ad that would plant itself on the bottom of thread pages with no way to remove. That one lasted a week or so and is now gone.

I think Best Buys' is getting worse. It's like a dam fruitfly.

My Ipad 2 needs to be replaced and I was going to run over to BB just 3 miles from here. Instead, I'll order it from Amazon.

Up until the last update I have been very happy with my iPad.
I think iOS8 is Apple's new way of telling the iPad II users that it is time to update.
One of the things I HATE... about Apple, pretty, soon none of my apps will work.

I will probably fall in the same path and get an iPad Air but I wont be happy, this time I will buy the smallest amount of memory and use it just as a remote device while I am watching the TV or eating, not my full time computer.
I am still in the remodel mode with the new house and have to use my iPad II more than usual and have discovered a few short falls but maybe it is only the new iOS?

I hope the Management of this site take notice of this problem, it is starting to draw attention.

I wish I could leave Adblock Plus on my Android phone but Google has changed things so if a user installs AdBlock Plus they have to reconnect EVERY SINGLE TIME to a wireless network by changing the proxy settings and port...IT MAKES ME FURIOUS and I basically gave up using AdBlock because it was such at headache to reconfigure everything...BLEEP YOU, GOOGLE !!! BLEEP YOU!!!

Take a chill pill, install the firefox browser, install the adblock plus extension (or even better, the ublock one, same capabilities but less cpu usage) and tell Google where they can put Chrome.

Huh??? You were complaining about having to to fuss with proxy settings each time you switch wireless networks, this will get rid of that problem...

I actually think it was a mistake for Apple to allow the iPad II to run iOS 8 -- the hardware is too slow -- but because it was still for sale on Apple's site as recently as last spring, it gets a longer grace period for iOS updates that their hardware normally would. The hardware is almost 4 years old at this point; other iOS devices of that vintage are limited to iOS 7 and below.

I left my iPad III at iOS 7 and don't plan to update it to iOS 8 any time soon. I don't mess with things when they are working well.

Wish I had stuck with 7. The way the update to 8 was presented, one feature was increased security.

Apple just reported very high sales recently and I wonder how much of it is people caving on their old hardware trying to run on 8.

That was mainly the rush of lemmings waiting for the large screen iPhone 6/6+. Not only did it create a real upgrade frenzy among current iOS users, it pulled in a lot of new customers as well.

Unless I am mistaken, folks who keep having persistent unwanted ads have been the victim of having something installed on their computer they didn't ask for and (most) probably don't want.

I am using FF on a MAC, with Avast and here's the Warning I get (just) on certain* webpages on Tractorbynet:

Infection Blocked!
Avast Web Shield has blocked a threat.
Infection: HTML:Script-inf
URL: http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/related-topics/330819-help-redirect-virus.html
File: {gzip}
Process: /Applications/AddOns/Firefor.app/Contents/MacOS/firefox

When I get a warning like this, the webpage is blocked (i.e stopped from loading) thus I can't see/read what the content is.

For instance, I cannot get to either of these two* webpages:
http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/news-feedback/251506-malware-blocked.html
http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/news-feedback/253563-whats-up-virus-warinigs-when-4.html

While the Tractorbynet terms of use webpage makes no mention of you agreeing to allow them to download & install add-ons to your browser, it's apparent something is attempting to do so via certain pages on the website.

My guess is once the gzip file is successfully downloaded and opened, it then installs an add-on that is causing some of these ads to appear with tremendous veracity.

P.S.
Another excellent tool to detect and remove Malware from a MAC is Adware Medic, it's FREE (i.e. donationware), does a check in about a minute and is quite good at finding things installed within your other applications.

Here's a screenshot from my iPad. How do we get the admins to take a look? This ad followed me all over the screen, always in the way for a few seconds before snapping to the bottom. Annoying!

Kennyd,
Thanxx for letting me know as I don't have an iPad, however since I can't get to the other threads I mentioned* I was in part just trying to educate folks as to why they may be having ad-issues. Sadly the Adware Medic program I mentioned won't run on an iPad, so not sure what users can employ to discover/remove Malware on those devices.

Note to ADWADE;
Your post contained all sorts of popup links that as far as I am concerned are infections in themselves.
(anything in highlighted blue with lil green arrow)

I stand corrected as I found the source of my pop up adds.
Somehow a program got loaded and I found it under 'add ons' in a small window in upper rt corner of my screen.
Since I had never even opened that window I was surprised to find it.

All is well that ends well.
