Is your land all pretty much level, as your avatar seems to show, or will you be working on hillsides,too?
I remember the parts of western Maine where I did some rockhounding as a teenager were very rugged/mountainous.

Used is ok winch ill probably want new land mostly flat some prettybig wood ill probably only harvest trees i can handle on splitter ill have a logger eventially come get the big stuff im up to 13 cord per year when my daughters build they might want wood too im using an atv and log arch now
Want to run tractor 3 miles down road to get to big wood lot rather than haul it
I have numerous junk cars in the woods on one of my propertys i want to remove
Went on kubota and built a kubota 33000 wow!
Neighbor reccomends 40 hp do i need that much?

I'd recommend a mx4800. Should be closer to 26-27k. You might get by with a L3901 for $5k less. Best price and size for the job might be something used that starts with the letter "M".

M is what i was quoting for 33000 i could buy a decent used skidder i think

You might be able to find a decent, low hours L4240 for 25-30k.

About a year ago, I looked at a fairly low hour, fairly clean L4240 being sold by a developer who had used it mostly for mowing... no loader, but for the $13000 he wanted, adding a loader would still keep it reasonable. So, they are out there. It was too big for me.
