Yanmar YM 2000B
I have a YM 2000B and accidentally ran it dry of fuel by leaving the shut off valve in the off position. Now it turns over but does not start. I'm guessing I got air in the fuel line. How do I go about bleeding the lines to start the tractor? Or is there something else I'm missing?

Follow the directions, it's not that hard to too and usually doesn't take a lot of time, but after you have to do it once, you'll probably take steps to make sure you don't have to do it again!

just loosen the screw like the link says till fuel comes out without bubbles starting on the tank side and ending at the injector pump. All it takes.

HINT:
If your tractor has a nice clean engine, you can place empty soft drink 20oz plastic bottles to catch the diesel fuel being primed in the lines.

To the forum from Northwest Alabama. Hazel Green, at first I thought you were talking about your wife's eyes but then I remembered that it is North of Huntsville.

Oh wow. You live just minuets away from Fredricks Importing. If you YM2000B came from them, your machine was restored in a great way.

I don't know Yanmars, but on my TC30 (3 cyl), I bled each of the three injectors separately. The first time I did it I closed the injectors too soon. I watched a you tube video and saw that he closed them when he had a spurt of fuel. I did that and it all worked.

OOOoops! I thought I'd replied but I don't see it here. 2nd try....
MDOrange, ya got me on the eyes/ Good one.
BMaverick, yes, I am fairly close (45 miles) to Fredricks and I have bought parts from them but my Yanmar is either unrestored or a very old restoration without converting to US specs. I've had it about ten years. It appears to not have had much use before I got it and until now, I've used it very lightly, mostly mowing. With the new place it is going to be getting more exercise than in the past, with a lot of mowing, tilling and lifting ahead.

Bummer it was a pre-restore. It may have been another company import going back farther.

The YM2000B isn't a common model either. By chance, on the engine plaque, what engine is in the tractor?
The YM2000, YM2000A, YM2000D all have the 2TR20-A engine. Does the B have the same thing? I know that the ending letter of D = 4x4. The YM2000 series is a bit on mystery altogether with the variations. It has the most variations overall.

The 2TR20-A engine may be the entry series 2-cly for the YMXX00 desgination such as YM1300 2TR13, YM1500 2TR15, YM1600 2TR16, YM1700 2TR17, YM1800 2TR18, YM1900 2TR19, YM2700 2TR27. I don't have enough info for any other 2-cly TR engines. Nor do I know if parts are interchangeable in the TR engine line.

Yanmar also did strange stuff with the last two number like 10 and 20. Not sure what those number mean either.

the last 2 numbers like 10 and 20 denote power shift. The 10 and 20 are just early and late models. one has the shifter on the dash, 10 i think and the 20 has the shifter on the sterring column

I have a T2R20A-A in my Ym2000. It's all Org. and not a B. My Guess was it's a first addition. But I believe that was the T2R20. and then A through X. There was one other member that has a Ym2000 with a T2R20A-A and it's here in Ga. also. And now after I seen the -A on a F24 with a 3TN84U-A in thread "What Eng. do you have". No Doubt now and I'm sure it's there for a reason. What?

That would make sense. My YM2610 has the PS on the floor between the seat and dash wall.

I don't know. I'll look at the engine tomorrow and let you know. Fredricks has always ignored the B and talked like its the same as a 2000 but I've never pinned them down on the difference. I got the tractor with a piece of property I bought south of Huntsville about ten years ago. It had a half butt re-paint and was showing about 475 hours and no evidence of abuse at the time. I've re-done the brakes, replaced hoses, seat and fuel sight glass/bowl, front tires. Other than that it has been pretty much lube and fuel.

the B just has the updated dash with more gauges and lights. Also some different sheetmetal on the hood. but other than that i think we have decided that its just a ym2000

There's the -A Has to be a reason!
