Just a small cradle I made to speed up my woodmaking after finding the use of a chainsaw with sawhorse much to inefficient.

I lump all the small diameter limbs and cuts into the cradle and put a couple more substantial pieces on top before cutting. The cradle is dimensioned so I can cut all the wood from one side with a 15inch blade on the Stihl. The uprights in the cradle is sized for 30cm cuts which fits my storage bags and fireplace well.
Balancing the load have not been an issue so far. I take care to cut on alternate sides to keep the cradle in balance.

I use bags as I transport the wood from the site as I travel between home and here. This makes it easier to manage the transportation for me.
The bags are developed for firewood in 30cm lengths and allows the wood to dry fast. A small plastic chute and a holder for the bags makes it a quick operation to pack in bags.

I have found this simple setup to be a big time saver when making firewood.

I have a "Vermont saw" clone, both electric and for the PTO on my IH444, but find this cradle to be more efficient.

It looks good but I think our firewood would need a bigger cradle...

;)
