Thanks folks appreciate the comments. I meant to add that one reason I built it this way is the shank can be doubled up (two in parallel) for a narrow trenching tool, I have a water line project coming up.

This is what I got from Bro-Tek. Haven't tried it yet.

Looks great! I thought of sharpening the ripper but will see if it does the job as is.

check,, I see you live in Toronto and this ripper is from Bro-Tek in the USA,
what was the total cost of this, that looks like a nice ripper with the add-on.

Actually, it is a Canadian company from the East Coast, and both pieces together cost me about $430 plus tax. Look it up online, and you can order it.
