Your last generator Maintenance Run

It's irritating to have a piece of equipment down, but at least you guys have other generators to carry the day/night. :thumbsup:

Here's hoping those Champions don't need more than fresh gas laced with Seafoam, and basic tune-up.

I did put some seafoam in the tank... have not had a chance to revisit the situation yet.

Remember it being a quiet and smooth running genset.

Right now the Bay Area is having the rain storm of the decade... 75,000 without power around here today... most outages last a few hours and power is back... Looks like we will get enough rain to impact the California drought... at least that is the hope.

No problems power wise so far...

I was given a Champion that I heard run sweet last year... folks were moving and asked if I wanted it.

No go a couple of weeks ago... be interested what you learn.

Check the oil level. They have a very touchy low oil level shut off mechanism. Short of that tap on the carburetor a few times and make sure the gas is on.

My 10 year old Champion was very difficult to start. I found if I did not turn fuel off after use it was quick to start the next time. I have since replaced with Honda.

No problems power wise so far...

Drought then Deluge..... sounding kind of biblical out your way ur ! Your temperatures look to be a little above normal, so unless you need to run a sump pump, a couple of hours isn't too bad.

My flight back to work been pushed back 4 times since wenesday night.... I am only flying out on Monday now ( wife is happy )

I did drain the tank and the carburator on the champin and put fresh gas in it, it started 2nd pull..... Exercised ot for 30 min with a 1500 heater

It is not stabil, but I guess itnis the equivalent from Canadian Tire, but the stabil bottle is getting old too... That might be an issue as well...

I usually don't store the generator with mich gas in it. But after Arthur last summer we were out of powers for days, but I got power back 2 days before my brother so he took the champion. And he brought it back full of gas.

I do not have a pump for gas so I enpties the tank via the hose going from the tank to the carburator, it took 4 hours to get the full tank empty.... But I was not in a rush, I was working ( from home ) in the meantime.....

I usually try to rotate my gas every 6 months or so, but I haven't been home a lot since july....

I think my 2 gallons of mix gas for the chainsaw and the weed eater is over 6 months old.... I guess I will recycle the mix gas and what I got out of the geberator in a full tank on my dosge caravan......
