Temp is down to 47F @ 16:00 ... low tonight is supposed to be 37F ... looks like I'll have to fire up the furnance for the 1st time this season.

I just knocked off about an hour ago for the day ... started around 02:00 last night ... the fire is banked ... hopefully there will still be a few coals left and it won't be too chilly inside when I go back up there in 8 hours or so.

Upper jaw is mostly done ... just have to weld on 4 flats for cylinder protection. Welded the 3" x 3" angle and supports on the top rectangular cross tube for hose protection and drilled a couple holes for the JIC bulkhead tees. Also got the mount for the diverter valve welded up.

Nap time.

thanks Brin, that was funny.
plumber left; he actually found an additional shutoff under the ground a foot from the other one. No hint anything was there.
He just dug. Oh, they put them there around here....ok dokey, you are the man of the hour.
and he kept thanking me for my business when i dragged him out on a Saturday afternoon.

one ice cold Yuengling lager has made it a memory.

Rs, 500 lbs is a lot of weight to be packing but if it's just brush you can cut into smaller pieces and make an extra trip.
Yup ... with a smaller tractor I'm use to making the extra trip ... ;)

Brush is fairly light anyways ...

What fun. :)

Before you encapsulate the crawlspace and get it all squared away, maybe you should redo the plumbing under the house? Some nice PEX lines, distribution manifolds, easy to access shutoffs that help you avoid going into the crawlspace. You won't want to messing around down there once the vapor barrier, insulation and dehumidifier are in place.

I'm a little crawlspace antsy myself. I used to have a recurring dream about a crawlspace that had very narrow passages between concrete block walls. In the dream I was never sure I would fit through them to get out, plus some sort of complicated maze was involved. I could never be a cave spelunker. No thanks.

B tractor grapples should be made of Beryllium. :)

Don, I dream of a cab tractor too.

Miss FarmG rain dances. Need rain here.

Good day for Mississippi college football.

Good day for Mississippi college football.

Bad weekend to be a top 10 team. Oregon, Bama, OK, and A&M all go down.

Settling in for Nebraska at MSU. Let's hope MSU can pull a W here to break the pattern.

Good Evening. 2035, clear, 57F with 69% humidity. Cool and getting cooler. But I'm parked right up front here at work, and my bare legs won't get too cold before I make it to the car.

What a day of football. FSU won big, but looked average doing it. Most of the rest of the top 5 went down hard. Can't wait to see the new ratings. I can't remember one day where there were so many upsets all at once. It is just at the one third mark of the season, so there is still hope for some of today's losers if they win out from here. There will be very few, if any unbeaten teams at season's end.

Drew, at least you were not bored today. And you keep learning things about your new place. That's good, right?

Exactly. Maybe once in 8 hours will I max out with a large tree, (40 ft) and then it is usually too long (wide load) so I end up dragging it anyway. Most grabs of brush will weigh around 100 pounds. Large limbs might weigh up to 200 pounds.

38, heading to 64. Beautiful stars outside, and heavy frost on the roof and on top of the vehicles. Seemed like only dew on the ground while walking around with the dog. But a couple more hours before sunrise warms things up.

Yesterday was the first day with no hummingbirds around, so I guess they knew this was coming.

Good morning all.

BRRRRR.
46 degrees going to 66 today.
I wonder if this cold will get all the way down to Larro.

turned both hvac units over to heat; no question about it this morning.

all the basement insulation was pulled out yesterday, huge amount...glad it's not going back in. Going to spray foam all the crawlspace walls and then plastic wrap the top and bottom. And Dave, you bet, the plumber is coming back to redo some things.

At least I confirmed there is a decent sized water main coming in and it's right under the master bathroom, which is currently totally gutted, so I'm thinking about running a larger size pipe directly to the shower. Water pressure is not so hot; ok, but I'm pretty unecological when I get in the shower; like to feel some water pressure and those aerating shower heads help but nothing like gpm. The spec for the shower included an inline water pressure booster pump; but since the main connection can't be more than fifteen feet away, I think just running a larger ID pipe might get the job done. KISS
