Morning, everyone. Already off to a good start. Found the horses not in their night time paddock, but behind the barn. Two strands of fence down. Not sure how that happened, but have made a quick fix for now. Fed them in their stalls, and have them out in the pasture for the day. Lots of stuff to do today, which now includes fence repair.

Temps will be a pleasant 82 degrees, with very low humidity. Good working weather.

57 high of 68 later then on 30s tonight but since I'm not there makes no never mind. High of 80 here today before big cool down.

Driveway looks great something to be proud of. The PF 161 is an old tried and true machine about 26000 pound one good initial compaction with screed plate

In looking for grapple weight and strength hard to obtain but with different alloys can be obtained

Good Morning

Currently 50 headed to 70. Back to sawmill today. I had forgotten how slow the whole process was. But getting good yields. Cut 3 logs and squared a fourth before getting rained out after 4 hours. But that also included a trip home to put cows up. Somebody left the gate open while packing logs out of the pasture in the rain.

Drew nice driveway.

Rs, 500 lbs is a lot of weight to be packing but if it's just brush you can cut into smaller pieces and make an extra trip.

Morning! Raining here, off and on. Cool with a bit of wind. Definitely fall weather.

I saw on another forum a setup for a log clamp, a single arm that mounts over a set of forks, on a small jd tractor. The guy lives up in Maine, heats with wood and uses the clamp to pick up logs. He also raises sheep and takes pride in being a "BHNP". Seems like most folks from Maine are that way!

Good Afternoon. 1250, sunny, 74F with 58% humidity. Forecast high of 74F this afternoon, and a low of 47F tonight. {Perfect football weather, but I may have to wear long pants tomorrow} The rain moved out late yesterday afternoon, and I got my food plots cut up. Tomorrow is a good planting day, so I'll sow the ryegrass seed then. I'm still seeing the two hogs on my game camera, so I have to get rid of them before deer season gets here.

This is the best weekend so far as far as football goes. I'm watching two games {clicking back and forth} on TV, and one more on my laptop using Dish Anywhere. I just hope my customers will not be needing too much out of me today.

Drew, the driveway looks great. I'm sure you will get the desired results on the edges when you talk to the boss-man.

Hope everyone has a good day,

Larro

Good afternoon, sunny and breezy here today, after a night of hard rain. With the wind drying thing out quick, was actually able to mow today, after I finally got the post hole digger pto shaft working again (see the attachment thread).

Watching Ohio State kick some turtle butt, and then off to the annual church Pig Roast. Not a fund raiser, we host several meals a year for friends and neighbors and anyone who shows up, all free to them. Just a fun get together. tonight will have a big bon fire and hay rides also.

boss man said no problem; would be fixed on Monday
so I thought I was all set for a quiet Saturday afternoon.
Wrong.
The insulation removal people show up. Ok.

knock, knock
Sir, mr, leetel problem with leak, uh we pull insulation and pipe break.
water running all over.
just lovely.
I turn off the main house water turn off.
The water continues unabated.
I really would like to figuratively strangle the original plumber for this place.
So out to the road I go and get the main valve turned off without breaking it off.
the water stops. One thing for sure, everything goes through that meter...

plumber called, emergency Saturday afternoon.
wonder what the rates on this will be.
Actually I am looking forward to meeting the plumber,
who is both an electrician and a plumber. A very handy man to know.
He did a pre sale inspection for me but we have never met.
His bill for that work showed up today by email, like karma, and I had a phone number to call for the
water.

this was made more challenging because the insulation guys were all Hispanics and none spoke adequate English. I kept repeating myself and asking him to repeat himself. Groan. Better get used to it. Or learn Spanish.
I couldn't figure out how bad it was until the one guy said the other was holding on to the pipe to keep it from gushing up into the floor above. Ok. That's when I hiked it to the street and turned everything off. one thing for sure, this plumber coming in is going to put shutoffs on everything in sight. But maybe not today at double time...

still intend to get a Netflix movie in later; this pipe break is really small but it's down in that crawl space and I'm just not going down there.
not until they wrap it in plastic and maybe even not then.

Wind is picking up here, cold air is coming in tonight. Might even get the fireplace going tomorrow.
