Looking at two tractors. Both have Front end loader.

2006 John Deere 3720. HST Transimission. 44 HP,3 cyl Turbo Yanmar. Canopy and quick connect hitch. 315 Hours. Tractor was traded in by original owner to upgrade. Dealer is asking $16,900.

2014 Kubota L4600...4 cyl Kubota. 46 HP. HST Transmission. 51 Hours. Tractor was given to dealership for consignment sale due to cross country relocation. Stiil under warranty and Tier III. Owner is asking $19,500.

Would greatly appreciate thoughts and input.

Thanks

I'd jump on the Kubota in a heart beat. One of the best lines they make imo.

The L4600 is a little heavier, has a little more lift capacity on the 3 point hitch, has a few more HP, has fewer hours and has a warranty. I don't know what the FEL lift height or lift capacity is on either tractor. It being a nearly new Tier III tractor makes it even more attractive.

The Deere will have a few more niceties and goodies I think. For example, it may have extendable lower lift arm ends, but I'm not sure. The 315 hours is nothing really on that engine. But there's no warranty, although there's a very good chance that the tractor will run for many years and hours without any issues.

A new L4600 lists for around $30,000 with a FEL, depending on how it's equipped. You can normally get 10 - 12% off list price, so figure somewhere around $26k - $27k to buy it new. An asking price of $19,500 sounds pretty darned good to me. I'd offer $18k or $18,500 and see where it goes.

I don't know much about Deere pricing.

I nearly bought the L4600 before deciding on my 3720. Both are good choices and very close in specs with the 4600 having a slight advantage.

I chose the 3720 because it was considerably narrower and therefore easier to maneuver in the woods. Most of my land is wooded. That may not be a factor for you, however.

I also prefer the pedal arrangement on JD products, and like the compatibility with my JD garden tractor.

Of course, being wider would make the 4600 more stable.

The Kubota would be my pick.

I have a L4600 hst dealer quoted me 20500 with out loader 1000 off if paid cash got loader and third function valve with zero finance out the door with insurance 28000 dollars if I could have got one with that low hours and remaining warranty I would go for it.

Thanks for the input guys. Your responses really help. I am leaning toward the Kubota for the reasons you mentioned here. I tend to work more in wider, open spaces and also need the slightly bigger profile. Both awesome machines. Have recently read some articles supporting strong customer and dealer satisfaction with Kubota products. Not to say that JD is lacking anywhere. Just seems like to good a deal on the Kubota.

I wouldn't wait too long to jump on that Kubota. There are lots of people looking for good deals on Tier 3 tractors.

Out of those 2 I'd pick the Kubota. 2006 vs 2014...
